Another homebrew application's making the jump to Team M33's Custom Firmware 3.71, as developer Cpasjuste releases Custom Firmware Extender v1.5. This plugin will add several new functions to your CFW, such as the capability to Reset the PSP with a button while under the VSH, adjust your CPU/BUS speed, set your brightness to the maximum setting, and more.

Cpasjuste indicates that almost all of the functions appear to work on this plugin's latest build. And in case you're wondering what sort of improvements have taken place since version 1.4, here's the changelog:

  • Custom Firmware Extender v1.5 - Image 1Compatible with psp slim and fat with m33 3.71 firmware.
  • "5th" brightness level added for psp slim
  • "Note + Volume Up" added to show buttons combo.
  • Basic usbhostfs iso redirection added, usbhostfs_pc server work under linux and only in "OE isofs legacy" mode accessible from recovery menu. The problem with windows XP must be the usb driver, maybe someone will fix it.
  • Default vsh cpu speed is 222mhz, default game speed is set to 333mhz. You must set the cpu speed to default in the m33 recovery menu for on the fly "overclocking".
  • Screenshot folder is now "ms0:/PICTURE".
  • Added 66Mhz speed option.
  • Temporarily removed configuration file due to incompatibility problems with fw 3.71
  • Temporarily removed remotejoy video capture due to incompatibility problems with fw 3.71
  • Temporarily removed ftpd server due to incompatibility problems with fw 3.71
Be sure to view the readme bundled up with Cpasjuste's Custom Firmware Extender v1.5 - the installation instructions and other important details are located there.

On a last note, you may want to keep an eye out for a new version's that's being readied. It will carry usbhostfs support for Windows OS user, and improved compatibility. You may want to visit Cpasjuste's release thread over at the QJ.NET forums for further information.

 » argh!!!

Lol, as1212, you're mistaken. I too thought this was dax's 1.50 kernal thing, but it's not. It's just some useless file. Good thing that http://stores.ebay.com/PSP-Unbricker sold me a working pandora kit for $25. I downgraded right back to 3.52 M33 after realizing I had the wrong thing :P

Dax, please hurry! :D (Just asking, not demanding).

Also, if you do use http://stores.ebay.com/PSP-Unbricker, tell him that youarepwned sent you.

   Re: MitchenX - 2007-09-26
 » its ok

dont get too excited. i also thought it was the 1.50 kernal at first. just cause ever since i got this firmware, i keep thinking "150, 150, 150..." just give it time and it will come around.
as for this cfw extender, its pretty good. just gotta learn to use it, as i've never used the extenders before.

 » SORRY!

Oops, I'm very sorry for my previous comment, cpasjuste! I just realized that I called your file "useless". I meant it as it is not useful for running 1.50 apps, NOT that your app is completely useless! Thank you for contributing to the homebrew scene, and again, sorry for the wording in my previous comment! I appreciate it, and I'll be sure to test out your extender once I get the 1.50 plugin.

   Re: Iam(unregistered) - 2007-09-26
 » can you feel it?

Do you sense it too? I've got a nagging feeling that we'll see the kernel 1.50 plugin by Sept 28th...

 » SNES 0.4.2 error

hey i was wondering if anyone could let me know why my SNES wont work on this firmware even with the 1.5 add on. Is there a specific way i have to have this set up to do so, or am i just screwed cause 3.71 MSS + 1.5 add on wont support it?

Email me at Snkysnake02@aol.com

would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

Great work with everything Darl_Alex, and im sorry to hear of all the crap thats going down behind the scene.

Hope you find them and put a BANHAMMER on there @#$@....LOL.

3.71 M33 + 1.5 extender

   Re: Jx1 - 2007-09-26
 » you can't.

SNES uses the 1.5 kernal.
this is not the patch DAX is coming out with. You'll have to wait for that to play.

good luck ^^

Should have stayed with 3.52 CFW! It has pops loader, 1.5 kernel homebrew loading, and plays the newest UMD games. I don't know why you would want to go above that unless you have a slim PSP.

Come to think of it, why would you want a slim PSP?

Playing on the TV? How about all the fighting games on the psp that were virtually unplayable on the Outdated PSP. If you carry your psp in your pocket the slim is a gift from god.

Not sure why snes is so important cuz most older games run quite well on the user mode snes emulator.
Should get an xbox for SNES.
Im sure slim will see better homebrew compatibility one day but your telling me you cant keep yourself busy with the 1000s of PS1 and 100s of PSP titles available already while you wait?

Must really love your homebrew.

u spent $25 on a 3.71 m33 downgrader. there is one that des not require pandora you can google it and its free and super easy to use.

   Re: FreePlay - 2007-09-26
 » No.

There's not.

   Re: Iam(unregistered) - 2007-09-26
 » unlucky

Well, i consider myself lucky. See, I had no other PSPs around with 1.50 to make my own kit, and all the other Pandora kits were selling for $90+ on ebay. Imagine my relief when I found evilscarycomputergeek's service, in which I paid just $25 to get my kit. I mean, he makes it obvious that it's free to make a kit, but when you have no 1.50 psp around, you'll have to settle for getting him to make a kit. Also, I shoulda specified: he made my pandora kit to downgrade my PSP from 3.50 official firmware. I downgraded that to 1.50, up to 3.52 M33, then up to 3.71 M33. however, i realized only after installing that all the good homebrew won't run on m33 3.71, but luckily I still kept my pandora kit in pandora mode, so I easily downgraded back to 1.50, and now I'm back to 3.52 M33.
