This is a much, much better line-up for our On Shelves section this week. As in MUCH. One, the Transformers are finally rolling out (unfortch, Megan Fox won't be included in your game purchase). Two, Fight Night Round 4 is also stepping into the ring to knock you out with. Three, The Conduit is also set to make waves on your Wii, and so is the Resident Evil Archives. And of course, the ever-present DS games for the kids.
Yes, it doesn't just stop at three. Go ahead, check out what else is there this week. Classic Word Games - Enjoy this collection of original and brain-stimulating word games on your DS, with 15 different challenges designed to stimulate the player's knowledge, keeping your brain fresh and active. From Hangman to Crosswords, this game's got it all. Dawn of Discovery - King George's Island is suffering from severe droughts and famine in the year 1404. Desperate, he sends out his two sons, William and Edward, to discover and acquire new territories so that they may have resources to sustain their civilization. Discovery Kids: Parrot Pals - Players can choose from a variety of parrots, from African Greys to Sun
Conures, making sure to keep the birds happy and healthy by feeding and
bathing them, filling their cages with toys, playing games with them,
and using the DS microphone to teach the birds words and phrases. Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires - Experience Ancient China's greatest and most glorious war as an all-powerful lord or as an officer. Decide when to attack, when to resist invasion, or when to initiate policies, and you can expand their power and influence. An easy-to-learn "card collecting" system lets players enact policies
that will increase their empire's strength, improve the abilities of
their forces, and more. The cards that a player receives will depend on
the attributes of the officers and their army. Fashion Week Junior Designer - You're never too young to start on your dreams. So if you want to be the next celebrity designer, then try your hand at Fashion Week Junior Designer. Fold, sew, iron, and accessorize your way to becoming the hottest and most sought-after designer in town.
Fight Night Round 4 - The fourth in the boxing ring franchise, this one sports a re-written gameplay, adding a variety of fighting styles and boxer differentiation for that authentic emulation of all the greatest fighters of all time. Hot 'N' Cold - it's time for some Scavenge Hunt game! Here, you hunt down after items in virtual environments, in full 3D. It features "large environments that break new ground in the hidden object genre by being fully 3D."
Little League World Series Baseball 2009 -Features player-motion control with either the stylus or Wii-mote, jam-packed with four-player exhibition modes, a season mode,
new collectibles, a team editor, new skill challenges, and more.
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite - Go crazy with its over 500 hours of gameplay in some 400 missions. The third PSP installment in the Monster Hunter franchise boasts of features like the wireless Ad-hoc connection deep fighting combat systems, the new AI "Felyne" feature and more.
My Healthy Cooking Coach - (From PR) My Healthy Cooking Coach helps you prepare new recipes while expanding
your cooking skills and learning more about how to cook healthier. It
takes you through each recipe, telling you what to do step by step
making cooking less time consuming. It provides also a large selection of useful tools such as the virtual
recipe finder and the shopping list that will simplify the cooking
process. It also provides useful nutritional tips for every recipe in
the game which have been developed by a nutritionist.
Overlord II - Overlord II is the sequel to the hit warped fantasy action adventure
that had players being delightfully despotic. In Overlord II, a new
Overlord and a more powerful army of Minions take on an entire empire
in a truly epic adventure, inspired by the rise of the Roman Empire. As
the Glorious Empire conquers kingdoms and destroys any sign of magic it
finds, it’s time to go Minion Maximus and send in the horde. (IGN)
Overlord: Dark Legend - This isdesigned completely from scratch to allow a native Wii gaming
experience and so the controls have to be redesigned to allow the
players to control the character using the Wii remote. The player will not control the unnamed Overlord character from the
original game but rather a "young, new Overlord" (dubbed "trainee
tyrant") which is "able to take his growing pains out on the local
fairy tale inhabitants as he protects his castle and lands."
Overlord Minions - Meet Giblet, Blaze, Stench, and Zap -- an elite Minion crew who,
assisted by minion master Gnarl, get star billing in Overlord Minions.
In Overlord Minions, the Overlord commands the Minion team remotely.
The Nintendo DS stylus becomes an extension of his evil will and every
precise Touch Screen command is the player-as-Overlord directing,
commanding and combining minions in battle, pointing and sweeping them
to attack enemies and solving puzzles to execute his dastardly plans. (IGN)
PANGYA: Fantasy Golf - Players practice and perfect their swing on the nine fantasy fairways
of Pangya Island. Combining golf gameplay, endless customization
options and a slew of sassy female characters set in beautiful
environments.
Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil - The Archives will consist of Resident Evil 0 and the GameCube remake of Resident Evil, both playable by the Wii controls.
Restaurant Empire II - With two handfuls of cash and a dream of creating a legacy you will
build, cook and hire your way to the very top of the culinary world,
where tasty food is king and smart management reels in the dollars. If
you're skilled enough in the kitchen and behind the management desk,
you just may go further than any aspiring restaurateur before you and
cement your status as a true legend of cuisine.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor - Tokyo has been sealed by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force
due to a demon outbreak, and it will be seven days before the whole
capital is wiped out. The protagonist, a 17 year-old high school
student, is trapped with his two friends Atsuro Kihara and Yuzu
Tanikawa within the city, and is forced to make contracts with demons
by utilizing a peculiar device called COMP to survive.
Spore Galactic Adventures - Get out of your starship and turn your Spore creatures into legendary Space Captains. For the
first time, beam down with your allies to take on action-packed, planetside adventures. Complete quests,
collect rewards, and even create and share your own missions!
The Conduit - After a full-scale alien attack on Washington D.C., suspicions arise as
to the involvement of the U.S. government. Armed with sci-fi gadgets
and high-powered weapons, players will battle aliens, rouge agents and
enemy forces as a former secret service agent codenamed "Mr. Ford."
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen -Set in unique environments across the globe such as Cairo and Shanghai,
the game allows players to instantly switch between vehicle and robot
modes as they drive, fly, fight and blast their way through intense,
pressure-packed levels. After engaging in single player action, players
will be able to go online and battle friends in all-new multiplayer
modes.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Autobots - The fate of the earth and the survival of the human race hang in the
balance in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: Autobots. Based on
Hasbro's legendary Transformers property, the title takes players on an
intense, action packed adventure that follows a similar storyline to
that of the movie.
