Assassin's Creed by Ubisoft - Image 1 Thanks to a tip from SynGamer, we learned that the ongoing online petition for Ubisoft to bring Assassin's Creed (PC, Xbox 360, PS3) to Sony's PSP has now broken past the 20,000 mark. As of press time, the petition has so far garnered 22, 176 signatures, and it is undoubtedly not showing signs of slowing down anytime soon.

The petition first came about after Ubisoft announced that it will be porting the game to the PSP's rival, Nintendo's DS. It sure looks like the word has spread, indeed, for the cause. We can only hope now that  more people give their signatures to this petition and that Ubisoft will heed what the fans want.

If you've yet to sign up for the petition, just click on our source link below.

 » yeah...

As incredibly detailed the game is on the consoles, it amazes me that they think it'd be a good idea to port it to the DS, where it would look like ass, probably have to have less people crowding the streets, and have less intelligent AI, due to various technological shortcomings.
The PSP version would clearly be superior to the DS. It could be pretty close to the console counterparts.

 » sigh

It's all about money.

Ubisoft knows the DS has 4billion units out there and that some sucker will pay money for a 1/2 a%%ed game. Plus I hear gameloft (who did the cell phone game) did a bunch of work to it anyway, thus Ubisoft barely did anything for the DS ver as it was.

» it has to be the money

I agree with hush404, it has to be the money when they were thinking about porting it to DS. The game was poorly done and I doubt anyone in their right mind would continue playing it.

 » DS fans liked it

According to DS fans, AC was beautifully detailed on the NDS. Of course, NDS owners are either blind or crazy.. so I dunno. I've seen the game and it doesnt fit the description. It looks like ass

 » The real reason

This was predictable after the announcement that Ubisoft wouldn't make games for the PSP anymore until Sony makes a clear statement about which audience the PSP is aimed at and what it's planning with the PSP for the future.

Assassin's Creed was an abomination that raped me of an hour and a half of my life that would've been better spent eating out of a dumpster.

Very old news. It has been announced on polish forum months ago... I think most people already signed this petition ;)

Even if they announce that they will develop this title, the sequel to the first one will be coming out for the home consoles, they might just make the sequel for the psp two.
And btw almost everyone on QJ has signed this, i know i did months back.

I won't sign the petition. Sick of PSP being the waste basket of remakes and second hand games. Sick of getting sloppy seconds, thirds, or even fouths. I just want Sony to get into gear and make an actual game for the PSP!

   Re: DVD_Sandwich - 2008-06-09
 » well....

i'm sick of the DS just having a bunch of mini game collections and having no real games. The PSP does have it's share of exclusive games. why is it that fanboys like you don't complain when a game is ported to the DS when it's gonna play and look like absolute crap, but you have a problem with the game being ported to the PSP, and being able to be identical, or at least mostly identical, to the console versions.... ?
the double standard there just baffles me.

 » Dead DVD_Sandwich,

I complain about the PSP because I'm on the PSP Forums. If I were on the DS Forums, I'd complain about the DS. However, I am here. Also, look at the DS release list. They come out with about 3-5 games a week, while the PSP comes out with about 2 a month.

 » @ Nezumi

Yeah, but those 3-5 games released every week are games like "Disney's Raven: Adventures to cotton candy mountain" and the like.

It's well known that Nintendo aims their games towards kids, and that buying a Nintendo system would be involving about 90% kids games. The topic on what to expect from each portable was long ago discussed, before their release on the market. You don't buy a new webcam and expect it to have it's own highspeed internet service. Why? Because everything has their main function, and people should know Nintendo's function is for kids.

i dont think they will ever port this game for the PSP

I would love to see the glory of this game on PSP. but you must think. the Nintendo DS has sold more units here in US than the PSP ever will. Some people wonder why this is, well, think about it. The nintendo ds is less than $100 now, while the DS lite is $120(where i live). And the PSP is a price of $160, and the PSP Slim & lite is $200(same, where I live). also, the DS seems more kid friendly. byt this is where assasins creed comes in, this game is NOT kid friendly in ANY way. So i am unsure why it was released for the ds, but it was. As for the PSP, it is only kid friendly for the pictures, music, videos, and thats only if u pur kid friendly stuff on it.

I dont know why this game was ever even CONSIDERED to be released for the ds. I have a ds, but only my brother uses it. His friend let him borrow assasins creed for the DS for the day, and he let me play it. It was probably the worst game I had EVER playe for the DS. I bought it for the 360, and WOW, it was awesome!!!!!!!!!

But, the debate of whether or not this game will be for the PSP may not mean anything to ubisoft. like what hush404 said, its probably all about the money.

So, where or not this is released for the psp, the game could be inadequate. Never the less, i signed the petition anyway.

even though the game can be bad, or good, or anything, i hope for it to be released for the PSP, well find out about it then.

 » i agree with Nezumi

im also sick of the psp getting ports rather than origional games

i also think it would suck for ds, however dont get me wrong i love my ds, its a great system tho i agree that the majority of the released games now are gimmicky and bad but first and second party games like mario and pokemon are really what makes the system

as for the psp, i used to love it but i got sick of the small library of games (that i like) and barely use it anymore if not for the isos. its become a remoteplay machine for me

dont think im a fanboy because i hate fanboys, i have a wii, psp, ds, and ps3 and love them all but i will admit to every one of their flaws

Is it a petition to have assassins creed banned? It's about time we got together and took a stand against boring repetitive overhyped games in this country.
