PMP Mod AVC

Raphael's nostalgic recount of how the PMP Mod has turned into what we now know as PMP Mod AVC will surely send loyal followers of this media application tumbling down memory lane. He referred to his post as a "malloc revival" version of PMP Mod, and inevitably lead to how Malloc was the first one to mod Jonny's original and how in turn, that got him started on his own mods.

We're pretty sure that you already have an idea on what changes have been made throughout the years, so I'll spare you the lengthy changelog. And the latest of these changes will also be added to the standard version PMP Mod 2.02, after polishing some more details.

As a reward for reading this article about memories and reveries, we're giving you Raphael's latest FontGen v.06, and as he explains on his post, "It adds back all Windows codepages from 1250-1258. This was necessary, because some of the ISO8859 fonts weren’t compatible with subtitles generated in windows and led to wrong output of the subtitles (cyrillic for example)."

Thanks Raphael for the tip!

What about his cool GUI? The standard GUI is fine, what's really needed is a bookmark/position saving feature in PMPModAVC. Very inconvenient to have to memorize where I leave off, then skim through movies every train ride to the exact point again.

Somehow they always mess things up :>
Well, there IS a AVC release already, they just didn't find the file I think.
Here's the link to the binary: http://www.fx-world.org/download/pmpmodavc102M_sub.zip
And here the source:
http://www.fx-world.org/download/pmpmodavc102M_sub_src.zip

And here's the changelog they also avoided to post:
- fixed rightmost cutting bug with newest FontGen 0.4+ fonts
- fixed clipping bug in glyph blitter
- fixed crash bug when trying to play non-avc videos
- fixed uppercase bug in filelist
- fixed non-showing subtitles bug when playing a short part twice in a row
- added file sorting, subtitles and files are ordered by filename now, rather than creation time
- added USB connection in filelist
- added filesize/modification time display in filelist
- added video information display (resolution, codec, fps, duration)
- added resume function (start with O to skip resume)
- added saving and loading of playback settings (audio stream, aspect, zoom, lumi/volume boost, subtitle/color)
- added display of number of found subtitles
- added file deletion function (SELECT)
- changed sensitivity of buttons in filelist, fast scrolling only after pressing button 1/3 second

So there you've got it - the position saving feature back in AVC.
The non-AVC version will come whenever I find the crashbug this introduces in there.

Thanks for your post and mod. Does this create the POS files like your old non-AVC mod used to do?

 » yes

yep, also pos files, just not 100% same content (though the actual file position should still work if you have some old .pos files left over :P)
