632_PMP_Mod-761142Miemt11 has released PMPMOD_1_02_M4g3 Plus Edition. This version now allows you to delete any PMP file within the PMPMOD player using the select button. When a file is deleted, the file list will automatically refresh with the new changes. For those of you who are unaware, PMPMOD allows you to play full resolution AVI files (DivX and Xvid) on your PSP.

This is a really awesome media player for the psp and I like seeing new improvements or additions being added to it, yet tell me something guys; is it just me or does it seem that there is a lack of a STOP feature button to stop video play ? Correct me if I am wrong on this account, but there doesn't appear to be any function that is assigned to the CIRCLE button of the PSP(I originally thought that pressing this would act as a STOP feature to stop video play, but it doesn't do anything at all).

I've taken note of all the player controls and features from previous to currently present for PMP MOD player and here they are:

CROSS = START

SQUARE = PAUSE

TRIANGLE = BACK TO PLAYER MENU GUI

CIRCLE = UNKNOWN OR NO FUNCTION

D-PAD FORWARD ARROW = FAST FORWARD

D-PAD BACKWARD ARROW = FAST REWIND

HOME BUTTON = EXIT PLAYER

- a volume booster function (up and down can be used to change the volume from x1 to x2, x4, or x8 during play, usefull for the low volume scenes)

- a resume function (when the video is exited with triangle, the position is saved in a small file, and when the video is played again, it goes directly where it was saved)

- Left and Right trigger can be used to adjust the luminosity during playback (it's usefull to add a bit of luminosity to remove the bad ghosting effect of the LCD screen in dark scenes)

- if START is pressed during play, it goes to the start of the video.

- if the .PMP.POS file is selected in the file selector, it launches the .PMP directly

-delete any PMP file within the PMPMOD player using the select button. (Currently available on PMPMOD_1_02_M4g3 Plus Edition).

It's not a big gripe that I have or anything, save for a lack of a STOP feature for stopping video play, it still would be nice to see this available and possibly have it assigned to the CIRCLE button as it doesn't seem to have any important function. Seeing this in a future release would be welcoming, still even without a STOP feature, the rest of the features including the ability to delete a PMP video file more than makes up for it in this Incredible Media Player for the PSP.

Mike, you should change this line "For those of you who are unaware, PMPMOD allows you to play full resolution AVI files (DivX and Xvid) on your PSP." to "For those of you who are unaware, PMPMOD allows you to play full resolution video encoded into a PMP container on your PSP." You can see the confusion this is already causing.

True. Now it sounds like you just need this thing to play superduper high resolution AVI files. But it takes more than this.

Agreed they need to post that it needs to be converted into a pmp container. Other than that great stuff I love the fact that this is improving so well from different fronts from so many different people.

ZeroBinary,

The triangle button works like the STOP button. In addition, it also marks where you left the video playback at the time where you "stopped" it. I'm a little curious why you'd want a "STOP" button? It'd just make the screen go black and then you'd have to start the video from the start...if that's what u want to do u already know u can just press the START button :)

The circle button does the same as the X button. Try it, on the file selection screen start a video with the circle button instead of the X. During playback hit square to pause and circle to resume. I guess they left both X and O the same so the japanese psp users don't feel out of place with the button placement?

Anyway, this thing keeps getting better and better. Great job everybody working on this.

Thanks Dukes for the heads up on that one. =) And here I was thinking the CIRCLE button didn't have any important function. I guess I got so used to wanting a stop feature (due to the fact that with other media players -- windows based and not for PSP),seeing a stop button in a player kind of made me wonder where PMP MOD's stop feature was. I guess I never gave much thought to the Triangle button also functioning as a sort of 'stop video play' button as well as being able to go back to the player menu, and bookmark/save video if you pause and later resume which it also does.

Guess I sort of got sidetracked as to how many features one button for the PMP MOD player has especially for the Triangle button, where you said yourself, it has more than one function assigned to it. =)

Thanks again Dukes, still getting used to the idea of the 'one-button-has-more-than-one-function concept', but overall it's one awesome player, and the features and functions of it work out really well. =)

This sure sounds like the bee's knees, but am I the only Mac user who's dying for a chance to use PMP?
Somebody please make a version for the Mac!
Keep it up.

Also being a Mac user, I was curious about that myself. Any chance of a future Mac-compatible port of PMP Muxer?
