Well, another bit of hot news from E3. Someone videotaped the PS3's interface in action. And it looks just like the PSP's XMB/Interface. Keep your ears open, a lot of important information is exchanged. |

So there is also a network update for the PS3. Do you think this will prevent modchips and other hacks like it does for the PSP ?
pic dont work on my pc, its only getting a red x in the upper right hand corner
We don't have an idea ;)
Why not wait for it to come out before speculating about modchips? :)
pic doesn't work here either.
working pic please
It seems like the embedding isn't working in IE.
I'm working on it ;)
I liked the part about being able to hook up your own keyboard and mouse to it to surf the net because that seems a lot more realistic to do than these idiots that think a mouse and keyboard attached to the tiny PSP is practical.
Although the lady who was demonstrating it didn't seem to actually know many technical aspects of it...
stop using ie, ie sucks just like windows itself, use firefox, use linux
Thanks it's working
It's working again.
Wow, a nice upgrade to the XMB, I like the new wave effect much better.
Well, it got fixed automatically! :/
Blame Internet Explorer ;)
god thing of something original the psp one was good but they should come up with something original if there gonna charge that much for it. Just goes to show how lazy they are
What about linux? They didn't even mention it!
To be honest, I'm not a very big fan of the XMB interface. It wasn't too bad on the PSP, it allowed quick access to all your files etc and was very simple. With PS3 I was hoping for something a bit less boring, something similar to the Xbox 360 interface, which I really like. Ah well, it's all about the games I guess, the interface doesn't matter too much I suppose.
Linux get R Kelly all hot just like peeing on underage women...
Only reason why i would buy the ps3, is if it had linux capabilities, or some way to play some of my favorite pc games. I would rather buy a 600$ ps3 than a 2000$ pc to play games with top notch graphics
XMB... I think they're just lazy to make a new idea or they don't want to take someone else's idea for the first time.
And system firmware! Putting homebrew on your PS3 through the new Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Stories!
ITS AMAZING STUFF!!! web browser, keyboard...they have a full media center in it...finally ive decided which console im getting...
They said long ago that tjhe XMB will be the standard Sony interface for the PS3 and the Sony TVs.
the XMB works great, the PSP functions are so easy to access so why change it?
The New Sonys TVs that have integrated Cell processors will have an XMB interface. It works. Its user friendly and it speaks for itself.

it looks like it may have a web browser, lets just hope that its not crap like the psp was
I love this interface...short, simple... and I am sure they will still add some features that aren't ready for showing....
Looking at the specs though, it says it has IEEE 802.11 b/g --- so will this be a wireless router as well? Not just bluetooth wireless capabilities?
its pretty nice better than ps2 menu
its too bad it has firmware updates so people coudnt pirate the games
They should have just made a controller that plugs into a computer.

"And, there's that infamous Network Update icon. Does that mean that it will be able to support new things in the future like the PSP's firmware updates? Only time will tell."
Yes, Sony announced that at E3 05
im not wasting $600 on that! almost same as psp
Daaaaamn. I'm gonna get one 4 real. I think the Internet Browser will be much better than the psp's one, because it has a hard drive. The keyboard and mouse settings look really good. It will be worth the 599€/$
know i know which system to buy the ps3 that ***** is going to by hot the xmb is so easy to access so even a 2 year old could do it but how are we spose to transfer msuic and video and pic on our ps3??????? what bye memory card like the psp one or bye we take the hard drive out or if sony is lazy as hell bye usb??????? who know well well have to wait and see time will tell!!!!!!!!!!!!!
