Update: Just got wind that PSP 3.00 Firmware is out now! We have obtained the file and are uploading it as you read. If you were thinking about updating, check your network settings, reports have come in it is up and ready via network update as well. Yah so sony wants you to upgrade to 3.0 while they still don't *****ing support avi nor mpeg video. They also want you to buy the location free player and or the ps3 in order to acess the cool features!? Thank god we have homebew and talented people who actually know what the psp needs. Damn you sony, damn you.

i swear... sony likes to screw people in the ass very hard. i for one arent buying either the locationfree tv player sh*t or the ps fuc*in 3 b/c i think thyer both crappy b*tch inventions. I aint tryna spend $800+ to use the rest of the gud features on my psp.
looking on sony's side tho... the reason why they want us to get our psp games like this is b/c they done want any pyracy adn making u spend an extra $600+ to play their ps1 games is what they want us to do in order to "fix this" problem. well u kno what... take ur $600+ ps3, put it up ur ass and have sun hardcore anal with it.I NOT UPDATING CUZ I CANT PLAY ANY PS1 FU*KIN GAMES

sony wants us to find a hack with the firmware, so that they can patch it up, and then they will release a firmware update that lets you d/l the ps1 games onto the memory stick. Damn them!

If someone downloaded the ps1 games on his stick can't they share it on the internet? Or is it protected with that registry on the ps3?
And does it have any purpose if you upgrade a 2.82 to 3 if you aren't going to buy a ps3?

Set your parental control level to 1 then the umd will not auto boot without the password.

Sony has added visualizations to the music player, more options for the RSS feed (such as what time to attempt to download podcasts at), remote play options (including how responsive the buttons will be - higher responsiveness, slower screen updates) and Playstation Network downloads (PS1 games).

everything that we've been hearing about these past months.. none of it is in the firmware at all.
all this 3.0 firmware is is a few small updates to the video.. and new options with the PS3.
we all thought this firmware would be revolutionary.
in my opinion, its worse than the 2.7 update.
at least that gave us something totally new- demos.
a dissappointment.

Shut up. Just shut up. Yes, they gave us the PSP, and with that makes much more reason to hate them because of everything they're trying to do with it. They try so hard to just make money they forget what the costumer actually wants, or gives a ***** about. Do I really want to pay 600 dollars to play PS1 games on my PSP? No. I may have CSO files, but if they actually let you buy PSX games, I would. The updates for the PSP can suck it. The PSX Emulator that you need a PS3 for can suck it. They are trying WAY to hard. PSP is fun because of emulators, because of the ***** we can do to it thanks to hackers, not because of Sony. So yes, I am a fan of the PSP, but if Sony was one person, I'd want to punch him.
