One of the biggest advantages of the PSP has been its looks. Now tell us, who wouldn't fall flat after checking out its shiny exterior? That, and the cool shape, plus the huge screen...It's just begging to be ripped off. And checking out the local and International flea markets, we've noticed that these things actually sell a lot. Let's just call it a poor man's PSP, shall we? Now if they gave away Keira Knightley with this rip-off, We'd buy 10 of them!. Obviously, they don't. Most of the readers would assume that these are sold in flea markets for a buck. You'd be wrong again. A few of the manufacturers even have their own websites. We don't know about you, but there's no way we'd give up our legit for any of this! |

PSP 4 LIFE
This Thing sucks
Sucks, post some real news, everythings a fking rip off of something.
does this thing have its own collection of games? or does this just make noise with a sticker pretending to be an lcd screen.
i can just imagine a chinese guy trying to sell it in the streets.
BAI DIS! THIS IS A PEEH ES PEEH! GOOT GAMES! VELLY GOOD! EN ALSO, BAI DIS MOHTOROLA RESOR. SEE? *presses on fake buttons and it rings* GOOT FONE!
sad
the one i like the most is the "pop station" that you guys had a video of last october. its always funny to check out the rip offs
So what I want to know is:
1)Where can one find these online(I doubt their website will pop up if I type in "PSP ripoff"
2)What *CAN* they do
3)How much are they?
Sad thing is, half of these probably have better D pads then the PSP
Al's got a point. They really might have better d-pad, heck even a TV remote might.
a link for the last picture:
http://www.unibit.com.cn/psp.htm
The last one actually playes mp4's, mp3 etc. Plays Nes + Snes titles. Has an Linux OS like upgradable firmware and cost about 1280.00 Yuan wich is around 160 US dollar.
FUN!!! ~~Actually I really want one!! ;)
12, if u really want one get a life
buy one for $150 and watch it fall apart the next day... :P
Oh Snap!!! PSP has joined the ranks of kleenex and scotch tape! I'm sure if I lived in China and a PSP would cost two months salary I would get uptight about having a name brand handheld computer. It's a world market, and direct competition is the surest sign you are doing something right in the market place. Competition drives innovation. I would search for a good platform with Linux so my work computer would be disguised as a childs toy. Hmmmmm... Maybe I could just hack a PSP here in the US, or better yet just buy the new Vaio UX....it comes loaded with WindowsXP Professional and a fingerprint scanner, that sounds a little more simple.
Geeks.
Asian portables > PSP > Sega Game Gear
A pieces of crappy plastic.
one says psp isnt dat copyright?
last pic nfs underground .
is that just a pic or is it real........................................wow!
mimicry is the greatest form of flattery...so what's the big deal? as stated before, the PSP took the basic feel of the game gear and built upon it.
honestly, if it can run Linux, it's GG. the PSP can't do that. homebrew (not emulators, loaders, or devhook) for the PSP is good, but it takes too much time and dedication to code in order for them to be worthy of playing. Linux...the possibilities are open.
i can see a chinese guy on the street, screaming out to sell a rip-off PSP. BUT, nothing beats seeing a little white boy crying over the fact that he couldn't return Metal Gear Ac!d because it wasn't a "real" Metal Gear game.
Maybe it would have the game where you have to get from point A on the left side of the screen to point B on the right side of the screen while dodging objects. If you make it to the other side you get a point. If you got hit by an object, game over. Once you make it, you can continue going back to A, then B, then A, and so on. LCD screens can be designed to look like different situations, but it is still the same game.
This was perfectly demonstrated by a toy I received as a gift when I was a little kid. It tried to be a little bit like a Gameboy by offering three LCD screens that plug into the main unit. The screens had no chip inside it since everything was handled by the main unit.
Another game it might have is a combination of games that involves a grid of squares on an LCD screen (low resolution pixels, something like 17x17). Possible games can include Tetris (choose between original or any other kind of way like more than 4 blocks per falling piece), Snake and Pong.
X1000 (last picture) has a 1GB NAND Flash,
Sony PSP has null, zero, zip.. :P
you have to buy a Memory S(t)uck if you want to do anything with your Sony PSP..
so I did buy one.. ^^
a fake Sony 2GB :
You wouldn't give up your PSP for one of these babies??? Man, I'd sell my soul for one!
diz crap iz fake da last 1 has need 4 speed underground on it
I seen a Game unit have the same design like the PSP. but not as wide as PSP. that was 4 years ago in China. so to be fair. these picture show up on internet because they look like psp. but for all we know could be sony copy someone's design in China. psp only came out last year.
Is it me or do they seem to be bigger and heavier?
lol, you forgot the POP station.
