TA-082 motherboard

We've got some pretty bad news for PSP owners out there who have firmware 2.50 with the cursed TA-082 motherboards. Coder 0okm, who was working on a SoftDown downgrader for TA-082s, has decided to stop working on the said project. This decision came about after somebody tried to hack into his Gmail account and discredited him with some nasty gossip.

All the people who were generous enough to donate support for 0okm's work were fully refunded - which is a good thing - but we still can't help but feel a bit down about this news item. Hopefully, either 0okm will decide to work on the project again in the near future or someone else will pick it up.

Right now, let's all show some support for 0okm in whatever his next homebrew project is.

How it was a scam? I can understand that *maybe* you might need a serial to generate a certain code that is for the serial of that one psp only, but an ISP (ISP: Internet Service Provider) e-mail? THAT'S AS PATHETIC AS THE NEOPETS "hi i can give u free items can i have ur password?" SCAM! ANY ORDINARY EMAIL SHOULD WORK! I DONT KNOW HOW QJ COULDN'T SEE IT BUT IT WAS A SCAM OK??? I'm pretty sure that the same guy who hacked his g-mail account hacked his QJ net account and made this stupid hoax. How do I know? IT ENDED IN ONE DAY! AND HE (the hacker) WAS STUPID ENOUGH TO EVEN SEND A MESSAGE TO THE GMAIL ACCOUNT!

 » WTF?

@ #6: It was not a scam I think. 0okm wouldn't do that.

But this b@$t@rd makes me so d@mn angry!!!
Why hack a developer when you can't get anything but $h!t from it???

Somebody needs to get a life, or at least some common sense!!!

What of an idiot...

this seems a little convinient no? we have seen no evidence of the said downgrader and suddenly after he has people send their personal info he wants to stop. hmm *cough*scam*cough*

This is bull. Just like PSDonkey, who "stopped working on his emulator" after people said that he lied.

Also, 0okm should have had a good password for his Gmail account.

 » Scam. Possible

Thats what you get, Keeping most of your stuff on the internet instead of on your computer with firewalls. What an idoit.

TO me, it looks like a scam. THe guy wanted to cover his track and blame on innocents hackers. He there goes the movie" Hackers". The guy Ookm what ever- should go to jail for scamming dumb people. Sometimes this stuff like hacking should not come at a perfect time where this people release that what so call downgrade.

by 0okm wouldnt do that (Unregistered) - 2006-10-04
 » 0okm wouldnt do that

HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW?!?!?! all you have done is read a few of his posts and maybe his blog. do you know the guy? he could be the ultimate scam artist or even santa claus for all you know. but the evidence suggests scam artist and santa isnt real (sorry kiddies :( )

someone probrably hacked 0okm's qj account and made this hoax to start with. And the e-mail threat just confirmed the hoax.

 » No scam.

People who sent donations, got their donation sent back. Did the person also use his blogspot account?

0okm is a well respected member of the scene, and wouldn't lie about this.

 » Hah

0okm may be respected, but I know a scam when I see one. Tack on to this the lack of any proof that anyone got a downgrader and you now have him in control of being able to reveal any personal information about you.

by tbh he should be such a ***** (Unregistered) - 2006-10-04
» well he shouldnt really should he?

Lets look at this in the cold light of day, HE is hacking sony's stuff, yet crying about the fact that HE got hacked. I rest my case, m'lud. pwnt.

that guy was shady anyway he was asking for stupid things like mac address and isp and said he would leak your info if we shared his program this guy is a fu_king idiot

 » Jeezuz...

You guys are idiots. What kind of scam is it when you return huge sums of money? I'll tell you what a good scam is: convince the psp scene that you have the ultimate downgrader and be donated handsomely and then flee. Obviously not the case here.

   by mrmiyagi (Unregistered) - 2006-10-04
» you guys are sad even if it was a scam

whether or not it was a scam at least he was trying, i don't know if he actually was able to do it or not but no one really knows. this just shows how selfish leechers and noobs like you guys are. you guys aren't even thinking how hard is to program a psp but there you go opening your big mouths critizing people thinking programing a psp program yet alone a downgrader is just like hitting the staples easy button. well news for you guys is not and it takes tons of time to program for the psp. hats off to homebrewers out there that have deal with this *****

by lol @ you sorry azz kidz (Unregistered) - 2006-10-04
» too effin bad for you

Well, so there you have it.

all of you liile pricks had to whine and complain bout this that and the other, so now NO DOWNGRADER for ta-082

too bad LOL!!!!!!!

enjoy using your combersome HEN and devhooked 1.5 that fails to load half the time

I do hope that 00km releases his softdown so all of you whiny noobs brick your PSPs

if it was up to me, none of you ingrates would have any FW lower than 2.8

[/trollbait]
you might as well update to 2.81 cos ta-082 will NEVER be downgraded. have fun with RENGOKU 2

 » How convenient

If this guy really did know how to soft downgrade T082 Psp's then he could have shared the source with trusted devs.

I was waiting to see what excuse would be used to stop doing this and now I see an extremely lame and unoriginal one.

I do not believe it for one second. He is beginning to sound like another Psdonkey. How strange that as soon as he makes a statement that he is going to go ahead with the downgrades that his Gmail account is mysteriously hacked. If you ask me, this is a classic case of ''biting of more than you can chew'' and then bottling out with some lame excuse.

Just think how much traffic this has generated on his site and how many people religiously visited his blog every single day. It was the perfect way to gain more traffic. Even though QJ.net states that all people who donated were refunded, he still gains due to the difference in currency rates. Either way, he wins. I do not trust him.

 » o well

This is bad, But at least mines was downgraded.

» Can you people read at all?

Yes, a scam where the scammer dontated ALL of the money back.

Totally logical.
