PSP Game Structure Utility screenshot - Image 1

A little less than a month ago. PSP homebrew coder and QJ.Net Forum resident Blade Hunter (aka bhunter in the forums) released the PSP Game Structure Utility tool for use among the PSP community. For the guys who weren't around when this homebrew was released, it's a PC-based application that allows PSP users to reorganize their PSP's GAME menu to an order of their choice - sort of like how iTunes manages your iPod's playlist.

With that said, we're announcing a minor update to this application. As bhunter explained, "The old one scanned GAME/GAME150/GAME303 little did I know that the GAME303 increments with the CFW version. The new version will scan GAME/GAME150/GAME*. Of course, it still scans the ISO folder and sorts everything for you." We further note that PSP Game Structure Utility requires .NEt framework to run.

Aside from the update, bhunter is expecting to get help on this project soon, which in turn means possible updates in the near future. Guys who'd like to hear the details of bhunter's plans, or want to share their ideas for future features, can head over to the application's release thread at the QJ.Net Forums. Enjoy the download.

 » I'm confused????

So are we suppost to put GAME* instead of GAME330 on the OE update?

   Re: Blade Hunter - 2007-04-18
 » Explanation

No, just put your homebrew where you always have. The only change to the program is that if you have a hombrew folder other than GAME303 (GAME330 on the current CFW) then that will now be catered for, the previous version specifically looked for GAME303

So the short version is there is no change for the user, just a small change on the back end to cater for more user setups.

 » Nice

I was always tired of having an unorginized games folder.
I've tested this app and works nicely, what else could you possibly want to add to it? It's good the way it is already.
Thans bhunter.

» What else can we add

There are so many things on the horizon for this app. I have now found another developer to help this project move ahead. You guys are going to love the next version. Keep your eye on the development thread, we may post a teaser screenshot soon :).

 » One of the enhancements

One enhancement which I have just finished coding was a suggestion in the development forum from veekay. They wanted a button to quick sort alphbetically. I am about 90% done adding that feature. No date yet on the next release but lets just say that this release will be what I wanted the app to be from the start, Now that I have a co developer, all the features I wanted to add can now be added.

» keep up the good work

i always loved this app. would it be possible to show the contents of a folder from the app? what i mean is sometimes we have forlders named usc757686 or something like that and we have no idea whats in it. would it be possible to make it so we can hold our mouse over the folder and it will show what files/folders are in it? or mabey if we click it once it will show the icon for it? i like how we can just double click the folders in the order that we want, its so quick and simple. thanks for the update and keep it up!

   Re: Blade Hunter - 2007-04-19
 » Sure thing

Hi Antonio. One of our planned features for the next release is to actually scan the begining of an Eboot.pbp file where all that information is stored and make it so it will show the information for you :).

» An idea to improve this

I think this is great, a new program to organzie my PSP with, but I would like to be able to rearrange my videos with something like this and I think it would be fairly simple to add into this program as an added function.

 » Great idea

Great idea mate, we will finish the game structure componant and do a release, then we will look to adding Video and audio after that :).

» .NET framework for Win 2K

Try installing the .NET framework version 2 rather than 3. Version 3 is only really a few Vista addons which i am not referencing in my code. It "should" work.

Download from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid+0856EACB-4362-4B0D-8EDD-AAB15C5E04F5+displaylang+en

Hope that helps.
