AdHoc Messenger v1.0 - Image 1If you've ever had the urge to just chat with a friend using your Sony PlayStation Portable without using the internet, then this application from PSP homebrew developer FaT30YCG might interest you. The Adhoc Messenger v1.0 allows users to send and receive messages on their PSP via an Adhoc connection.

While the application doesn't come with any documentation, instructions on how to use the program are given when you load it. Installing the application itself is relatively simple. Here are the instructions from the developer as taken from the release thread: "to use this homebrew simply place it in the applications directory of the latest version of LuaplayerHM"

The developer also released a video of the Adhoc Messenger v0.1 in action. You might want to check that out before trying the program for yourself.

I was going to code an adhoc chat app with PSPSDK, but I couldn't get any compiler working on my PC, and now that I got it on a spare PC, me and my friend aren't in the class we were going to use it for.

 » cool I guess..

not entirely useful since you might as well just talk anyway, but at school, it could be used, except that the only guys I know are either out of signal strength distance, or they sit behind me xD

this isnt exactly hard to make with the new lua player, it basicaly writes its self, the send.recieve command was only like 10 lines, i think the keyboard prob took more time, im gona have a look at the code see if i was right

 » so?

so nothing, just saying its not hard to make this.
he needs some sort of color order on the text, like the 1st person is always green second person is red n so on, i cant even get this to work tbh, i get some null error, where do i put this, i had luahm 4.1 or someting like that, tried with hm5 aswell, i did put a background on this thing, but as my psp wont load it my whole 5 seconds of editing the code to make it look nicer was for nothign *sigh* o well, back to my own project.

» one thing bad about this.

I don't like my PSP screen sitting still the whole time and keep hiting screen on and off to check messages.

so that's why I don't use homebrew that sits still nor messenger.
