UPDATE #2: Okay, something just might be a li'l fishy here. A lot of the decrypted files in fw 3.10 are identical to the 3.03 ones. And if you check the version.txt, you'll find out that it still says "3.03". Could it be that Sony just made a mistake? The Korean PlayStation site does include info and instructions on the said 3.10. While we dig deeper into this PSP tidbit, we advise everyone who has the PSP-1005K model to just hold on to your handhelds and do not update yet - rumors abound that updating to 3.10 may brick TA-082/86 downgraded PSPs. We'll keep you posted.

The Rubicon has been crossed. Little notes left sent to us from someone simply named "reader," from Vas, and from CatfishD have led us to visit the PlayStation Korean site to find something new for download. Somehow, before Japan or North America, Korea decided to make the jump from 3.03... to 3.10. Traditionally, touching the first decimal, the tenths, (3.10) is usually a big thing.

Before we go on, we need to make the point clear. This FW 3.10 is for KOREAN PSPs ONLY!!! That's PSP-1005K models!!!

Okay, we don't know if it means that Japan and North America get their tenths adjusted in the very very very near future. Maybe the reason why PS Korea jumped the tenths decimal was because it's a Korea-specific thing (which could mean that the US/Japan firmware updates continue following the hundredths continuity, as in the next one's 3.04). Or maybe not. Maybe the features introduced in this Korean firmware update will also be introduced 'round the world in the near future. Or maybe they're specific to PSP-1005K.

The 3.03 downgrader sure came with good timing, come to think of it.

Do we smell a potential firmware update in the air? The tendency's already historical. But is it going to be 3.10? We can't tell. We just can't tell. Perhaps a Korean reader can come and enlighten us on this, if there are any specifics we might have missed. 3.10 - for PSP-1005K - features capped below, text translated by Google Translate.

And we quote... - Image 1

Thanks for the heads up, CatfishD, Vas, and reader!

There's no need to exploit it, currently every FW is exploitable... Unless you're a muppet and you upgrade to this version.

They probably made most of the update within the last 3 days when they've blocked off the gta exploit and stopped it being decrypted...

It really was on sony korea website for a while(8:30am seoul time), but it has been removed without any explanation whatsoever. Im korean,,but the translations up there seem fairly accurate and I do not feel the necessity of another translation. I will skip retranslating that jpg.. It seems that Sony Korea made a mistake, the admin should update this posting saying that it no longer exists on sony korea and potentially mustve been SCEK's mistake.,,

 » Translation

The Playstation network has been updated to support more games.

The location free player is now enable to play mpeg-4 movies.

Models from Japan (LF-PK20) and LF-B20, LF-B10 from American, required a fix and now need a base station (?)

A memory Leak was fixed with the Network

Sound has been updated with a dynamic normalizer (a.k.a. Equilizer)

Thats the best I can do for a translation.

» Also available for European PSPs

Firmware v3.10 is also available for European PSPs through Network Update. I just downloaded it but did not yet run it. I'm still thinking should I downgrade my v3.03 and then hit to Dark_Alex's firmware or continue on the virtuous path and always use only official firmwares.

Why can't you use the DAX firmware AND remain virtuous?
Just because it can be used to break the law, it doesn't mean that you have to. Nobody's going to force you.

i just downloaded it on my 3.03 OE-C US PSP
