The newest version of the beat-tastic homebrew music-maker, PSP Rhythm, has just been released by RCON for everyone's enjoyment. And when I say everyone, I mean even those of you on 2.0+ Firmware via the eLoader. Granted, this could change tomorrow, but for now it's a still a PSP Homebrew friendly world.

So what can you look forward to in this latest version? How about Real Time Audio Effects, for a start?

Included effects are: Distortion, Slicer, Filter, Delay and Monophonic Sample Mode. Effects assist in creating new and unique sounds. They assist you in getting the most out of your samples and the bass line synthesizer. With effects, Rhythm goes beyond a typical drum machine and is now a well rounded production suite.

So pick up your PSP and start doing something creative for a change! RCon has provided everything anyone could possibly need to get started, which you can download below:

Kudos to the PSP Rhythm team! Adding TB-303 functionality was great, but putting effects in there too?!?! It's like they want us to have a portable version of ReBirth!

I have been hoping to see an MTV Music Generator for the PSP. However, as this team continues to build on PSP Rhythm's feature set, it seems less necessary with each release.

 » Hi hat 101

A hi hat is a like 2 cymbals, when you press the pedal on them they open and when you don't press it, they are closed. Closed hi hats sound like a more ticking sound and a open hi hat sounds more like a cymbal...

It sounds like you are not using the GTA exploit to launch the Eloader. You launch the program from the eloader.

 » HELP!! save a song???

am i being stupid, but how do you save your progress/song other than to wav?? you know so you can load it in again and carry on playing about with it at a later date??

all i can see is

bounce to wav - no good if you haven't finished it
save soundbank - isn't this all the samples and stuff

i just want to save the song data

cheers

» you need to save your bank

saving a bank saves all pattern information and song information for that bank. it also saves parameter lock settings too for classic mode.

1 bank = 16 patterns and 1 song
