Massa84remote

Massa84 has updated his PSP Universal Remote to version 1.1. PSP Universal Remote is a universal remote controller program, with which you can use on your PSP, to turn it into a universal remote controller for lots of IR controlled devices. In this new version, massa84 has fixed some bugs and added a little new functions to the program:

Solved bugs:

- automatic open of certain files in some folders
- opening of the file philips RC-5 that crashed the psp
- minor fixes

New features:

- Nothing except that if you use very often a remote you can copy the txt file and put it in the folder WITHOUT the % named controller.txt so it will be opened at the startup

Thanks for the email notice, Alexmae!

Right,
it wont work with any other firmware than 1.50 because the IR drivers are unavailable with other firmwares until now.
Intereting skin ^^

I tried the original program and couldn't get it to work on any of my television sets. I have 3 different TV's and no success... I tried to the update and still no success (I beleive he accidentall sent the wrong file for the update).

Has anyone had any success with this program?

I have no success with any device as of yet.

I have tried the SKY NAVIGATOR for my Sky Digibox, and Sky+ box, but to no avail. You can change the frequency though with the R shoulder button, dunno if that helps (didn't help me)

I will update the software, but I doubt it will help in all honesty.
But I will keep trying! lol

Well, it works like a charm on my panasonic stereo.
i tried to find an option on the other IR program and could not find anything.

i think the IR-'ray' is quite focused/weak cause i need to pount it directly at my stereo and had no sucsess with distances over 3 meters until now.

i got this to work with my tv and 2 dvd players. You do have to aim fairly well for it to work, has about 10 foot range with my tv. But like sniper said this file only has the remotes from the last release there`s no eboot.

YES! Works great! The selecting of the remote didn't seem to work, but I just deleted all of the other remotes in the remotes directory and it worked fine. My remote wasn't listed, but one of the other panasonics worked. Short range for me, about 2 meters or so, but finally I have a remote that works! :)

Great work Massa84!

If possible, it would be nice if the intensity on the ir could be increased, but that might not be possible.

You need to improve the app a bit more.

You see, If you have 3MBs worth of TXT files, however there are 2,000 of them, then the size will still be 3MB but the size on the disk (which counts) is around 50MB, which is a waste of space for text files. A whole heap of small files will turn huge if there is too much.

To improve this, either make the app read from an archive (eg. zip or rar) OR make it all into one big txt file, where each section is divided by a line of tildes like this:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And create line shortcuts, e.g. Sony TV = Line 243, Par 7 or something. Then, the size on disk will be 3MB.
If you have a heap of small files, you will have a storage problem, however if you have it all in one file, then prob. solved. This is also the case with images. If you have 2,000x12kb images... (that's why I also want someone to create an app that views images from an archive, too)
