choose the command you want to assign, then press square, you will be prompted to press the wished button. Press a button and you are set.
  • Save & load profiles (up to 6 profiles)

Such a great program, but not the best interface.
I think I'll wait for 1.5.

Oh Please...
PSPUpdates dont forget to link to the Remotecontrol files
http://www.psp-ita.com/upload/fileup/psp/Remotes.rar

you will need to put this directory in the root dir of your PSP or at least the files for the remotes you want to emulate...

start exits the program, oddly enough.

   by super_hoops1967 (Unregistered) - 2006-02-02

does this work on 2.0 yet?

   by Loonix (Unregistered) - 2006-02-02

Hikari Tenchi,
you need to install the remotes zip too (look above)

super_hoops1967,
2.0 does not suport IR modules AFAIK, so no. Not until a mayor breaktrough

amazing program works wonders. Would be great to add Soniq as a brand to the list, then i could control my whole room. :-)

by BACK LIKE COOKED CRACK (Unregistered) - 2006-02-02

this is really a great program.

I was wondering if it is possible to save the frequency of different remotes though. I need to change one to 56000 everytime i select it and despite trying to change the .txt file it always reverts back to the default of 30000 or whatever.

Also does anyone know if there any way I can create my own .txt files as my bush tv and digibox don't work with any listed in the database?

many thanks anyway!

   by Loonix (Unregistered) - 2006-02-02

hmm, i looked into some of the .txt files and found in some lines like:

toggle_bit 0
frequency 38000
begin codes

you might want to insert something like that into your remote file, (will try this myself soon)

and there seem to be programs with wich you can 'record' remote IR signals, in many headers of the .txt files you can find lines like this:
# this config file was automatically generated
# using lirc-0.6.6(tekram)

so with a IR enabled PC you should be able to record every remote.
Hope this helps =)

my 2 panasonic tv's aren't working with this.(althogh their remotes are listed....) But my kenwood cd player works perfekt.

   by comedy (Unregistered) - 2006-02-02

yeah, i'm glad you mentioned the recording of remotes... any progress on making universal remote able to do that?

it would be awesome... as it is it's still pretty wicked. (now all i need is a tv)

by BACK LIKE COOKED CRACK (Unregistered) - 2006-02-02

loonix,

yeah i changed the frequency in the txt file to 56000 and replaced it but if doesn't change the default when you run the progam.

can't wait for a psp learning function either since my pc hasn't got infrared (i dont think so anyway)

i recently bought a one for all 8 in 1 remote for $50 so now i can still that back on ebay because of this , yay!!

Whenever i chose Sony from the list it choses automaticly a model for my remote... why is that? I want to chose it by myself coz it choses it randomly

   by Loonix (Unregistered) - 2006-02-02

Igor,
i belive you have an old version, like 1.0

I would really like to see a faster scroll through the remote lists because it currently takes ages.

Nice app though, keep good work up. :)

iR Commander is a much better program i was able to do one for my Dish Network by copying & pasting the Hex Code from the site,...it took a liitle time but i got it to work. I also got some other things to work too.

   by WDUK (Unregistered) - 2006-02-02

The only remote I am trying to get working is the Sky Navigator (Remote for all Sky TV STBs)
So far I have had no luck, and I don't know why. If I could program the codes myself I would.

When I've had a look the file notes down a frequency of 40,000. But the program only has 30k, 38k, and 52k. What I'm thinking is that the program is over-riding the frequency, therefore rendering non-standard frequences useless.

I'm not sure though, this is confusing.
I tried iR Commander, and it worked for the Xbox DVD player, but when I got the codes for sky boexes, no luck. (There are no hex codes for the Sky Navigator for iR commander, if there was a way to convert the lirc file into iR Commander readable file, I'd do that! lol)

It would be hella sick if i can run this wit my direct tv receiver. But none of the codes work. So far i got my toshiba tv workin with it but wats the point when i need to change the channels on the direct tv receiver. Tv stays at 3 anyway. All i can do is shut off my tv and give it volume(might as well use regular remote). Is this even possible or can some1 help me out. THANKS HEADUNO 1.5FORLIFE

HEY I AM PRETTY CURE THIS IS A GOOD PROGRAM BUT CAN U TELL ME STEP BY STEP HOW TO USE IT IF YOU GET A CHANCE. ALSO I WANTED TO KNOW IF THIS THING WORKS WITH ANYTHING OVER 1.5 BECAUSE IF IT DOESNT, THEN I UNDERSTAND WHY IT WONT WORK WITH MY 2.6.

   by Kevin (Unregistered) - 2006-02-02

I hav a tobisha TV that doesnt have a code in the iR commander, but which model number thing is for the Direct TV reciver?! I dont feel like trying ALL of the model numers in the samsung cuz that would take ages!

   by MaRv (Unregistered) - 2006-02-02

This thing works winderful on my Logitech Z-5500 and my DVD Player.

When your exact model is not listed you can try similar models. (Like for my Ns32 DVD Player i just took another DVP-XXX and it works)
So if your model is not listed .. try similar ones.

Also some brand (lie Philips for example) just got some standard remote codes for their devices. (VCR1, VCR2 ... etc..) Sometimes these will work too.

If you still cant get your device to work you can look around on http://www.lirc.org/ .. There you will find all different IR codes and you can even record your own ones if you are smarter than me :)

Good luck :) and thank you Mr Programmer for your work if you ever read this :D
