It seems that PSP developer dPoet wasn't able to get the previous Slim Waves Patch by Bubbletune to work on his unit. So, instead of mucking about with a Phat devoid of Slim Waves, he decided to create his own plugin.

For some of you who're still looking for a way to bring the Slim's XMB Waves to your Phat, maybe this would help. Instructions are simple; they're in the readme, so make sure you take a look at it. dPoet also notes that this plugin "supports 3.80, 3.90 and 4.01, not a clue bout 4.05, havnt tested that."
