Ó

Now we've seen lot's of interesting PSP mods before but this one looks tight. Over at Acidmods forum, modder folklord36 has released some pictures of his PSP laptop project and from the look of things, this one is quite an interesting project.

The project which is still a work in progress is called
PSP laptop .5 and uses an Xbox 360 Chatpad as the keyboard. It uses a Joytech visor at the top that has the same finish as the PSP to truly resemble a small laptop. Here are some more details about the project:

The LCD has an extended FFC so it doesn't have the whole big FPC hanging out and exposed and being bent around. The normal PSP speakers were relocated to the big holes and covered up with the material from headphones.

The top is a joytech visor only cost 10 bucks and has the same finish as a PSP so it all matches. It has a ridgid hinge that can bend to any angle up to 180 degrees. It also spins so I put a dab of glue too keep it from spinning but still fold.

Don't try and open them in another page, java-script screws up how they load.

It's been so long since I've heard someone use the term "Tight" in that way.

Anyways, that is quite a mod.

why cant sony take a cue from stuff like this, instead of coming out with stuff like the psp go! , they should be releasing a psp4k with a qwerty, onboard camera, better web browser, second analog, and maybe an app that could allow text messaging.

 » Agreed

...though I'm only interested in a qwerty PHYSICAL keyboard, not this new pathetic excuse for a qwerty keyboard called on-screen crap. We need like a slide-out keyboard or better yet (and listen closely $ony, we know how you just LOVE add-ons like Micro$oft), develop an attachable keypad. My freakin phone has a decent keyboard (LG Rumor) so you can't say it'll be too small and uncomfortable. Put some texting features into your PSP and then maybe you'll see more uses out of it rather than just audio/video/game playback. We could use this over our cells! (Of course we would require wifi 24/7 or at least some kind of service for that -.-')

   Re: Metal Jody - 2009-06-06
 » yeah..

and 3G connections for multiplayer games and skype. that's the main thing I want in a PSP4k... oh and the better web browser. second analog stick wouldn't be completely necessary since the psp games aren't programed to use it anyway.
