We'll be introducing another PSP mod today, created by AcidMods resident jrfhoutx. The mod in question is a set of Push Activated Face Buttons which, as described, lights up the PSP's four primary face buttons by a set of internally mounted LEDs. Here's a video demonstrating how this mod works: |

I personally wouldn't do this to my PSP, I value it way to much to do something like this. Risk the life of my PSP for a simple mod, nah, but cool idea none the less.
By the way, first poster is a h0m0.
considering the fact that I'm not 12, I have a real job, I have more than one PSP, and I can afford to buy another one if I f@ck one of them up, they aren't an overly valuable commodity to me, besides I have enough soldering skill to not f@ck up my PSPs...
you guys are *****s just becuase you could never do this or afford to dosnt mean you can trash someone elses work who did it.
Personally Jrfhoutx i love the idea and love that you got it going and everything but i personally would havea use for this mostly becuase when i hit a buttom my fingur is on it so i wouldnt see the full light lol but GREAT stuff and great work i love you guys @ acid mods
haha your a h0m0
Hey dumb *****, you're not second, you stupid *****ing uneducated piece of southern white trash *****, don't you see two posts in front of you? Wow you might want to go back to *****ing kindergarten to learn how to count, stupid *****.
Well, I might be the first one to think that this is actually pretty cool. If I had the know-how, I'd mod my PSP like this too...
By the way, first and second posters are c'untweasels.
the comments on QJ are getting far too boring
it is like being at Kindergarden...
isnt there anything that could be done? like make it so only members can post
nice mod by the way :)
I dont know about any one else but to me this mod seems useless. Its my own opinion though. Its useless cuz when I press the buttons I cover them which makes them not visible.so you really wopuldnt be able to see the leds or watever
thats exactly what i was going to post
Why does every mod have to be useful? half the stuff you people swoon over that comes from F00f00's desk isn't useful either (no offense f00), and anything he makes that is "useful" is beyond the capability of most of you anyway...
Just cause I chose to put the LEDs in the buttons doesn't mean they have to go there, you could put them anywhere... Might look kinda cool with a game like DDR or something similar... or if you had the dual analog mod done to your PSP, then they would light up when you used the 2nd analog stick and your fingers wouldn't be covering the buttons...
To those of you who liked it, and said nice job or something similar... Thanks! Glad you like it!
Who am I?
It's nice and all don't get me wrong but I wouldn't do it to mine. And it isn't because I don't have the skills because it seems fairly easy to do. And I am not worried about messing up my psp because I could easily afford a new one. I have already added the external left analog replacement and am considering adding the right one to my psp. But I haven't ever been a big fan of leds even on the regular consoles much less a portable one. They just make the thing look tacky but that seems to be the first thing that people want to add the their systems because it is the easiest thing to do. All it involves is connecting power to a light congratulations you did the modding equivalent of screwing in a light bulb yea your so leet.
STOP ADDING *****ING MUSIC TO EVERY GODDAMN VIDEO ON THE INTERNET. I'M REALLY GETTING SICK OF YOUR AWESOME SUPER RAD BAND PLAYED AND DISTORTED OVER A VIDEO WHERE YOU ARE *TALKING*.

sweet!!! first we got digg!!! then wikipedia!!! is this the next target? +P
THe Trigger mod was nice...but i think this is kinda pointless... cause since is your fingers transparent? when u push the button your finger will cover it.
you should register
Damn, the mod looks sweet.. I guess all the mods lights he's using on his psp is maybe 0.2w it won't kill the psp batt life and maybe he will add a switch so you don't have to use it so when u want to use it. you can turn on the switch.
stupid for me for talking but o well
ps: all of you are right about people saying i got first, second lolz.. I guess we are dealing with are kindergartens and first graders.
this mod is a bit rubish
And was that a put of vasseline on his desk :P
LOL LOL
not vaseline, Rosin Soldering Flux... learn how to solder and you might know that...
do you have problems that you always say any ***** that isnt about that (just like the creator)
Good Job Man!
I am actually interested in this video lol.
PSP moding is gay and so is home brew. Its not that i cant do its that im not a looser and i use my psp like 2 hours a month i just go on this sight on my free time witch is rarely to make fun of you losers. You ***** ever herd of contacts u look exactly like i expected like a looser. oops here goes another Virginia tech.
I know this mod may look pointless now, but remember, this was a request by one of our members, and simply a proof of concept and a small bit in what is planned for that PSP. I know many of you think the LEDs in consoles are tacky or lame or whatever, and that this mod is rubbish or pointless, but I do this as a hobby, and usually cause I get bored, and none of it usually stays for very long...
besides I get a lot of this stuff for free... faceplates, buttons, etc. to promote different companies, which si why I'm glad Tim Y. noticed the prototype Camy Faceplate that I used for this mod.
