godmedia is a ****
10.) Because I only play the PSP
9.) Because I won't have to stare at a small screen to play the games
8.) It'll turn my TV into a Juke box
7.) It will help me persuade my roomates to buy PSP by giving them another reason to buy it
6.) It will make UMDs not so useless!
5.) Can you say internet explorer on the big screen?
4.) For the price it's worth it
3.) I'll be able to record and make screenshots of me playing the games
2.) Multiplayer on big Tvs will be bad ass
1.) The fact that will be able to unplug PSP from the dock and continue to play on the road!
So, this device ties my PSP down to my TV on the same day that a television program is being debuted on the PSP?
Who says PSP owners want portability? PSP owners just don't want to get up off the couch to play games while they watch PR0N.
@Godmedia...
when you say:
'PSP gamers don't really want portability, they want to sit at home and have their PSP be the smaller version of their PS2s.'
surely you dont believe this?! when you bought your PSP, i hope you knew what the second P in it stood for! i had been waiting months to have the ability of having near PS2 graphics on the go, and maybe you take this advantage lightly. but i dont. im not sure about you, but i have a ps2 and xbox a home, and there is no way i think of my psp as a samll home version of my ps2, why would i wana use that, when the ps2 has way more games, better graphics etc.. theres no need!(again i would use my pc for emulators, homebrew and web browsing). maybe you said it wrong or didnt mean it in that way, but i thought i should address it cause the PSP was designed for portability (hence the name!) and for you to argue that it should be directed into the home console market is pretty ridiculous as there are already better home consoles out..and way better ones on the way.
@Soopergooman...lol..ur a very funny man!!
when you say:
'i hate all the bashing on here'
um.. who else was except for you?
and:
'my use of certain words were inappropriate, but it got a response. y'see i had to stoop down to a moronic level in order to get peeps attention'
stoop down to a moronic level to get peeps attention huh?couldnt u do it with ur insightful comments instead?
also:
'It's just that if you dont like a product, why comment. I make posts because i usually like something and want to express my view on it'
well this is comments section, so the whole point is to get individuals points across on the subject, whether good or bad. That means not just your opinion and maybe you shudnt get offended when other people offer theirs,...afterall, your not the only one with a PSP!!
listen, in not bashing dude, im jus making a comment...so be ez my fellow PSP'er.
Peace
Well... I want one of these.. sort of. Can you reassemble the PSP after you're done or do you cut the S-Video cable
@Godmedia..not sure i agree with the 'avearge owner' being a kid.
but your comment :
'With a PSP clocking in at $250, another $100 for a decent memstick, $50 a pop for games, $30 for UMD movies, and about another $50-100 for accessories and such, there isn't much cash left for junk like this.'
this is a good point you (somewhat strangely) made.
@moogle...i share your views about the use of UMD on the go and dvd at home (hey, wouldnt it be cool if they made a umd player, so we can watch them umds on a big screen)
and finally
@Soopergooman.
when you say 'maybe sony should have thought of this one and grammer counts'...lol, is that meant to be funny? either your being ironic or very dyslexic!
i personally dont care if my/others grammar(note the spelling) on this blog is a bit off, but if u do, please(PLEEEEASE) at least make sure you get your own spelling and grammar correct.
Peace.
how are you to write about how you love something if you don't yet own it? and who the hell do these people think they are, 'we could have made it 50'??! i think any one of the psp2tv mimics that don't void your warrenty probably have more right that that claim..
Why is there need for two versions of this? Couldn't a simple PAL/NTSC hardware switch have been made, or something in the software even?
@GODMEDIA...wow, here u go again with your'Why increase the PSP portability factor?'..
it seems everyone else can see this as being obvious.. we ALREADY have home console and home computers(which are way more powerful than than the PSP)!! The playstationPORTABLE (notice the word in caps Godmedia...noticed it? good!) is a what we've been waiting for...portable gaming of near ps2 quality and i can only hope they(Sony) spend more time and money improving the effectiveness of the portatbility with more applications and more games!!
if you want better multimedia at home, wait for the ps3/xbox360 coz the PSP is designed for the on-the-go gaming!!
ok...good arguments but how about the people bleeding money LOL?
WOW look at all the moronic comments. Skye1, maybe sony should have thought of this one and grammer counts. So we already have the home consoles, but I want to be able to share my movies with friends. It's real F***ing hard for ten peeps to crowd around a psp to watch sumptin. Also the multiplayer aspect will be much better.(I'LL MEET YOU ON SOCOM FTB) GodMedia, this defines "portability", heck wheres my battery opperated ps2 or xbox. NOT!!! MR. T, most of us here werk really friggin hard to buy these things. I wish I was bleeding money.....
1)Porn
2)Porn
3)Playing Tetris
4)Watching family guy
5)Porn
6)Porn
7)Porn
8)Porn
9)Loud music
10)Did I mention porn?
I want this P2ptv device so badly... I would drink my own pee.
I didn't read all comments but all i have to say is this: WATCH THE PSP2TV VIDEO THAT PSPUPDATES HAVE. After watching the video feel free and leave comments. Cause after watching that I was like yeah that was freakin scary as hell.
HREY Soopergooman MONKEY, OF COURSE I GOT IT, IT CAME OUT ON THE 4TH, I GOT IT ON THE 5TH, NOT HARD, I ORDERED IT 2 MONTHS AGO, JUST GO TO LIK-SANG AND YOU CAN HAVE ONE TOO, BUT THE QUALITY IS CRAP, TRUST ME NOT WORTH IT.
YOU DONT WANT A PSP2TV, I GOT ONE AND THE QUALITY ON THE VIDEO OUT IS HORRIBLE. I TIRED IT ON MY 42" PLASMA, 27" HDLCD, AND 36" SONY WE3GA, ALL LOOK LIKE CRAP, THEY NEED TO REALLY SIT DOWN AND REDO THE WHOLE UNIT, ITS NOT WORHT THE MONEY!!
SuperGooMan, I don't see what you're so upset about, we are making the same point. I say that this is a device that is highly in demand and perfect for the PSP marketplace.
PSP gamers don't really want portability, they want to sit at home and have their PSP be the smaller version of their PS2s.
Maybe if you would read what people are saying rather than giving into your emotions about the people who are saying it, perhaps you would not make such mistakes in the future.
Therefore, cheers to you my ideological brother, for proving my point that the PSPTV is a sure sign of the trend towards less portability, not more.
Skye1 i usually try to do it the peaceful way, but that never ever seems to work. so I think I'll just lurk from now on.
1)Because of all the games (oh... wait...nm)
2)The long battery life (dammit...nm)
3)All of the great movies (hang on.. I already own a DVD player)
4)Because Sony cares deeply for it's customers, and would never do anything to screw them over...
5)Because I love to decide what I'm going to do with an expensive piece of hardware that I just bought, as opposed to having my use dictated by a corperate entity who constantly updates in attempts to remove the few choices I can make.
6)Because I love Yoshihiro, and his sniveling attempts at... well, everything.
7)Because I being eye-****ed in the laundromat because the guy across the isle wants a PSP enough to try and steall mine.
8)Because I love spending way too much money to play a damn video game (unit+good mem+couple games+100's of other money-eating little things like screen protectors)
9)Because of those fantastic headphones (I think my ears are bleeding)
10)Because Sony made it, and Sony is my lord and master (do you think they would sponsor my gravestone if I let them have ad space on it?)
Actual PSPUpdates user comments:
"as portable as it is, i never carry it anywhere with me...
By TheCheeks, at 8:52 AM"
"I never take my psp anywhere either. At almost $500 with 1 gig stick and at least one game in the thing, it's not worth getting mugged over if the wrong person happens to see you playing it on the go. It's portable from my living room up to my bedroom and that's where it stays. I've seen people get mugged for alot less..
By Ceno78, at 10:51 AM"
"But really...only the GBA is portable. People don't really play games for totally 'on-the-go' scenarios, such as when you're walking around town and happen to sit down at a coffee shop for a while. That's why the GBA Micro isn't insanely popular. However, for longer, more routine trips where you need to carry around a bag of some sort, the PSP and DS are wonderful systems.
At any rate...I sure wouldn't carry around those huge systems in my pocket.
By Sonic, at 3:11 PM"
"I would never dare to take my PSP out anywhere coz it would get stolen pretty quick...
By fraseybobo, at 6:53 PM"
People play with PSP at home, not on the streets. Look around any bus or public place you go to. Chances are that if you are playing your PSP there, you are probably the only one, unless you are with some friends in which case you are probably playing with them at one of their houses. Don't give me this crap about people wanting more portability. The portability of the PSP only serves to keep you from having to have it plugged in all the time and from tying up your TV with games instead of more TV shows.
I guess this product is good for people who dont own a ps2 or any other kind of gaming system.
there a few problems with this device.
you have to do a lot of stuff to your psp ... and unlike the guy in the video...we havnt dont it before...what if some of that orange silicon thing breaks ...or the L or R grey rubber bit tears....or you put it all together and it doesnt work correct and u cant figure out which bit you messed up on .....
I use my psp in my taxi mostly...so I wont be hooking it up to a tv..and when im home...i use the ps2...ive never wanted to hook my psp to my tv...why would i? its a stupid idea....its one for people who like the psp tooooooo much and think its the answer to everything............no..
be sensible , dont mess up your psp........dont buy this product...buy the psp on tv projector thing....no risk...and way way cheaper....no hassle....no woided warranty and the picture is gonna be ok..........
why not just use a psp emulator on your pc.....if its working..
anyway
i dont really care...
im just [posting for the he;ll of it :D
"but I want to be able to share my movies with friends. It's real F***ing hard for ten peeps to crowd around a psp to watch sumptin" by soopergooman
usually you'd buy it on dvd if you want to watch a movie on tv with 10 friends. The movie on umd is optimized for the psp screen and thus on the go and dvd's are optimized for tv.
and godmedia, about all those comments on taking psp out, not everyplace in the world is a hotspot for crime you know. I've seen a lot of people take out there psp's in public. I can also give out numerous comments about people commenting the opposite of what you pasted.
If you didn't really care you probably would have found something better with your time than telling people what to do with their money.
As for GodMedia...I totally agree with you...except on one point. Supergooman has repeatedly posted annoyingly inane comments on these comments sections. I wouldn't give him the benefit of the doubt with regards to what kind of a person he is.
"The install is pretty straight forward and simple. I've watched the video many times now, and I bet I could almost do it with my eyes closed."
And yet...'almost' doesn't mean you can, and you obviously haven't done it yet. In reality, that process requires a very steady and sure hand. One twitch and that fragile plastic lining will tear...and then what will you do gooman? Take off your blindfold?
Wrong the PSP does need more portability. I never EVER play my PSP at my house. The only time I use at my house is to put new stuff on it. Besides that, I never spend more than 3 minutes playing it/listening to it at home. I play it on the train, on the bus, at work, at college.
1) Because it voids the warranty for my PSP!
2)I run a risk of damaging the internal parts because I'm likely a clumsy and unskilled PSP owner, like most of the general public!
3) It costs about half the price of the actual system itself, and added to the c ost, would have cost more than a PS2 when it was first released!
4) I need to use my psp as a UMD viewer for my TV, because the content on UMDs are just so exclusive that I can't get it anywhere else, like special edition DVD which usually cost less.
Hmm, I ran out of reasons.
None of this really matters because, in reality, most PSP owners don't have the money to invest in this stuff.
With a PSP clocking in at $250, another $100 for a decent memstick, $50 a pop for games, $30 for UMD movies, and about another $50-100 for accessories and such, there isn't much cash left for junk like this.
With the average PSP owners being kids whose parents bought them this thing or who had to save up their allowance for it, there will be few takers for this crap.
Imagine the arguments:
DAD: "Why do you want this PSP2TV thingy?
KID: "So I can play my PSP games up on the televsion."
DAD: "Didn't we get you the PSP because it was like a GameBoy that you could carry in your pocket and play with it without tying up the television?"
KID: "Yeah, but this way I can see the pictures really big and it's really cool and Jimmy's getting one."
DAD: "First of all, I have to feed you, clothes you, send you to school, and pay for everything else around here. I don't have any money for you to waste on this TV thing. Besides, I am not going to have you hooking up weird little boxes to the TV just so you can watch your GameBoy on it. When you get home, you do your homework and you can play your PSP as long as you want, in your room with headphones, leave the television alone so the rest of the family can watch it."
KID: "But, Dad! Jimmy's dad is getting one for him."
DAD: "When I divorce your mother, I'm giving her full custody, then I'm moving to Mexico. That way I don't have to pay for child support or buy you expensive crap so that you'll think better of me than her. Jimmy's dad also has a boyfriend and asks your teachers to call him Ginger, do you want me to do that too?"
KID: "It's not fair! You suck!"
DAD: "I'm not Jimmy's father, I don't suck anything!"
KID: "I hate you!"
DAD: "Watch your tone with me, young man! I'll make you wish you were never born"
KID: "Without a PSP2TV, I'm better off dead anyways!"
DAD: "We can take care of that right now!"
Ahem... ...well, you get the idea.
Wow the level of intelligence sure has dropped. Man, MFDOOM, i dont know how you would have it as of yet, if they didn't send you one? Oh my. the blog has gone crazy.
Well for me i play it when am on my way to work by bus and sometimes when i go to another city with my friends. well i really think that the name PSP isnt playstation portable anymore. well i dont say i dont play it at home,i do but when am lying on my bed b4 i sleep ^^.i only bought the psp cause its portable and i want to play EXCLUSIVE GAMES! not games released multi-platform..which ur paying 50$ for lower graphics and same game which u can play on ur ps2,gc,xbox Etc..
first post ! i know it looks lame...
but what the heck :P
