Screenshot of PSPDoom 3.xx PSP homebrew game - Image 1One of the best old school shooters returns to the PlayStation Portable platform as developer CoderX recently released a new CFW 3.xx patch to the homebrew game PSPDoom.

Any FPS fan worth his salt will surely recognize this gory shooter which literally placed id Software on the face of gaming history. This handheld version of the game is based off pspdoom5+ and makes use of a patch, which makes it fully compatible with the new 3.xx PSP custom firmware.

PSPDoom includes binaries for both the 1.5 and 3.xx kernels, as well as the Doom1 Shareware Wad. The game has been tested on both the PSP Slim and the PSP Phat, and has been confirmed to work on CFW 3.90 M33.

If you feel like playing "Knee-Deep in the Dead" all over again, you can download this remixed classic via the download link we've provided below. Before you do that, don't forget to check out the Readme.txt file included with the file bundle for instructions on how to properly install PSPDoom into your handheld.

 » hmmm...

aactuallly, i think this is the same version, just with a patch that coderX for the slim so it has full compatibility... at least thats wat i understand

Chillywilly's was for only 1.5 addon's and etc.

Now my life without 1.5 addon is complete.

   Re: majorbb100 - 2008-06-10
 » exactly

coders need to stop making stuff that is 1.50 addon only. 3.XX is in now.

 » agree with majorbb100

1.50 is basically legacy now. why use it? 3.xx is faster and more powerful anyway, get rid of oldskool and lets get to the new skool!

however, a 1.50 kernel addon for PSP slim would be very cool:)

» That doesn't make any sense

Chilly Willy's port had to have been for 3.xx cause it has TV OUT!!!

well then you must be having a newer version becasue I got that one before from dl.qj.net which the database is all messed up

   Re: majorbb100 - 2008-06-11
 » well i think...

i think that all coders just need to recode any of there good software for 3.XX or start making 3.XX stuff and forget about 1.50. The slim is the new psp and thats what we need to start focusing on making good homebrew for. Maybe hopefully find and exploit in an OFW that will lead to a downgrader for the slim. But instead of downgrading to 1.50 it will just install a CFW. I know that that is really hard and ***** so dont flame me or some ***** like that
