PlayStation Portable security with PSPLock - Image 1

For those of you who want some privacy on your PlayStation Portable, here's a bit of a treat from homebrew developer, Auraomega. The dev dropped by QJ's PSP Forums to release PSPLock version 2.

If you weren't able to catch the first release a couple of days ago, here's a bit of a primer on the PSP application. In case you've been having a problem with the other people messing up your PSP, PSPLock will prove to be very nifty for you since, as the name suggests, it locks them out. Basically, you need to install PSPLock, and when you don't want anybody else to use it, just take your memstick with you. Pretty useful in case your PSP gets stolen, huh?

Here's the changelog:
  • Added config file (optional)
  • Allowed text to be output on screen (optional)
  • Allowed manual input (optional)
  • Can be disabled
  • Removed a nasty bug that stopped it working for a couple of people
And good news for those who were asking if the app works for FW 3.40 OE-A, as it does (Auraomega has upgraded). Anyway, before you go ahead and try out PSPLock, we strongly advise that you check out the ReadMe file which contains an extensive changelog, installation instructions, and planned changes. Enjoy!

What if you lose your memory stick, or it becomes corrupted?

does this work with the new 3.51m33 fw?

   by dapaperclip - 2007-07-19
 » Some info

1. Yes it works on all versions of 3.51m33 which looks and works exactly the same is not better then the OE's

2. If you add the config file without changing it, the it will ask you for a password when accessing the psp. Also if you don't modify lock.lock the default password is 11111

Hope this helps a bit

Cheers.

 » works great.

if you lose your memory stick, just get another one and add the lock.lock file into your memory stick. you can also just go into the recovery mode and enable usb flash(0) and delete the vshmain.prx and then rename the vshmain_real.prx back to just vshmain.prx. Poof. Lock-b-gone.

I like this program alot but i have a custom Cintro running on it and when i have this enabled even if i have "skip SCE logo" enabled in recovery, it still plays the original and not my custom, but oh well.

actually if i lied. if i do a cold boot, it will play my custom cintro and then the Standard sony Cintro. still a pretty cool app.
