MSX was conceived by Kazuhiko Nishi, once a Microsoft Japan (now ASCII Corporation) executive, who was attempting to create a single standard by which any company could build a compatible computer. Games that had their humble beginnings in the MSX include Dragon Quest, Metal Gear, Gradius and Castlevania. |

cool, msx
I'm I the only one who can't get this piece of homebrew working? I install it like any other homebrew and it just gives me an error message everytime I try to launch it. So... wth? And the weird thing is that I see two MSX-icons in the list when browsing my MS via PSP menu, when there's usually only ONE icon and the other file is supposed to look like an corrupted file. Maybe they actually put two same eboot.pbp's to this pack...`?
And zx.... do you sleep?
Not at all lol !
What's your firmware ? if 1.5 copy the fw1.5/pspmsx and fw1.5/pspmsx% to your psp/game directory. if 2.x (
hey great job!
does this realease support save states and sound?
those metal gear codes can be pretty long!
also, could you repost the 2.0+ file location - it got cutoff on your last post.
thanks!
Sound is fully supported, but not save state for this first release (i'm working on it ;) ).
About the location, it's not to hard : copy the directory of fw2.0/pspmsx to the psp/game/pspmsx on your memory sitck. then use the eloader of Ditlew and Fanj ....
great job on all your work. Next could you do an Atari 400/600/800XL emu (my first "computer"). There was one started but not finished!
I have fw 1.5 and I've been using homebrews since... well, ages now, so I DO know how to install them correctly. But this ain't working for me for some reason... When I click one of the thumbnails (as I said, I have two MSX-icons instead of ONE msx-icon and ONE corrupted icon, like it usually is with homebrews. anyone else having two of em?), it shows the PSP-intro like usually and then goes back to the main menu saying that the application could not be started due an error (a row of numbers).
I've not tested it on 1.5 because i've only a 2.5FW PSP ... I'm using kxploit stuff (from pspdev) to generate the two EBOOT (for pspmsx% and pspmsx) ... that's what i've done for my other emulator port, and it was working just fine. May be it doesn't work on this one ... :(
im having the same problem as leet
there are two icons showing the msx (no corrupted icons), and i cant start either one. all i did was drag and drop the 1.5fw files to my 1.5fw psp.
this is all before i tried to remove the corrupted icon via a psp program, btw
kxploit... oh dang, how could I have forgotten that! Gotta try it, maybe it'll then solve my problem ->
kxploit doesnt work on the 2.xfw eboot, how could that have been used to make the 1.5fw eboots...
and i cant unpack the 2.xfw eboot either, it seems to be corrupted. maybe someone else besides the few here could see if it works on their 1.5fw psp (or even 2.xfw psps) for confirmation or something
looks great!
knwo wut I realized, what happened to all the non-mainstream gaming systems? there used to be so many diff kinds back in the day, now theres just the 3 tyrants and no1 else...
