Links2

Raf, the author of one of the greatest PSP homebrew PSPRadio, has just given out another pre-release of PSPRadio. But there's more this time. He has just ported Links2 to the PSP!

First, I'll just give some details about PSPRadio itself. PSPRadio is an internet radio streaming client for the PSP. You can listen to shoutcast music on your PSP. It streams the music to your PSP from online radios, so there's so much music to choose from! There don't seem to be any changes from the older version of PSPRadio.

Now with PSPRadio out of the way, let me introduce you to Links2. It's is an open-source browser, originally made for Linux. It's always been one of the favorites for hardcore Linux users. And it has been ported to almost every architecture available out there. So it's about time it was ported to our favorite handheld. And guess what ? It's a fully featured browser which can be used on your PSP 1.5. It's bundled as a plugin along with PSPRadio.

A few minutes of usage reveals that it's quite a capable and nimble browser. You can download right to the Memory Stick. You can even view most of the sites since it supports Javascript too. And yes, you can check out PSPUpdates with it! There are a few niggles here and there, but that will most probably be sorted out in one of the upcoming releases.

For now, have fun with PSPRadio and Links2. All of our forum members are excited too. Here are a bunch of screenshots which Raf has taken just for demonstration. And yes, that's PSPUpdates being viewed in Links2. Thanks Raf!

 » memory problems

It runs out of memory due to the fact he could only allow it use of 8mb of system memory. He explained it in his forums. He needs to find a way to have it cache to your memory stick.

 » 2.7

 » cool

cool.. finally a proper browser
wouldn't it be better to make it a standalone than a plugin?
Maybe that will reduce the memory issue...
When i try to start link2 in pspradio-3dtextmode.. i got memory problem and it gave me an error screen..
But no problem starting it in pspradio-textmode..

» Awesome Browser Especially for a first release

This is pretty good. I love his radio brew and now this browser makes him my favourite brewer of all time.

Also, can't the guy who keeps posting **** get banned? My friend flamed on a comment board once cause he disagreed with something and he got banned almost immediately.
