PSPSSH: SSH2 Client for PSP v1.0.2, by Zx-81 - Image 1PSP homebrew coder Zx-81 is apparently taking a break from PSP game emulators to let us in on something equally (if not more) lucrative: PSPSSH version 1.0.2.

This homebrew application is Zx-81's PSP version of Matt Johnston's Dropbear SSH2 Server and Client, which was originally built to run on a variety of POSIX-based platforms. As Zx-81 explains, "PSPSSH is a port of the client version 0.48.1 to the PSP," with v1.0.2 carrying this latest changelog:

  • As Matt Johnston advice me, a new random number generator has been integrated (it's a unix like /dev/random generator). This version is now more secure, since the entropy of the random number generator is higher.
  • Add option for binary id_rsa key file support, for priv/pub RSA key pair authentication. (See README for details)
  • Add option to disable remote server version check
  • Add option to change PSP CPU Clock
  • New Danzeff keyboard layout, control keys are now available, and unused keys have been removed.
  • Control keys and arrow keys support
  • Improved communication speed !
  • Add scroll up and scroll down feature
  • A cursor is now displayed in the console window
  • Bug fix and code cleaning
Full installation instructions, author accreditation, and application usage details await in the file bundle's text files - we strongly advise users to read through them first. There's also Zx-81's release thread over at the QJ.Net Forums, which makes for a good source of information and extra pointers. Also included is PSPSSH version 1.0.2's source code, which should make for good reading for the guys who would like to study how it works. Enjoy your download!

 » okay.

Okay, I'll humor you. SSH stands for Secure Shell, a protocol for remotely using the command line on a system, primarily Linux systems. With this utility, then, you can issue commands to your Linux/UNIX system (or a Windows system running an ssh server) from anywhere with internet access. General rule of thumb with ssh: if you don't know what it is, you probably shouldn't be using it. That doesn't mean you're not welcome to try it, however. The Linux world, while intimidating, needs a few outsiders.

PS: me 2, I can't even think of a good insult for you that QJ wouldn't censor. Just use your imagination, people. And it wouldn't hurt to stop sitting on your cAPSLOCK kEY.

I wasn't the only one who answered this question in the last PSP SSH thread, whiner.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. There was someone replying to DJ's comment earlier by the name of "me 2" (actually the title put in the wrong field) which has been since deleted by an admin. No insult was intended.

Nothing nice. I can't repost it here without it being deleted, but lets just say there was a lot of asterisks involved. Probably the same person that does "OMGOMGOMG FIRST POST!!!!" He was using me 2 as the subject, not his name (an annoying habit a lot of people seem to do). Flamebait, and I fell for it.
