PSPTube - Image 1A new version of SofiyaCat's ever-useful PSPTube - the Youtube application for the PSP - is already out, supporting Custom Firmware 3.71 M33.

This particular version (previous version here), 20080106, has something that fans of the application might like. A LOT. *drumroll* Another video streaming site, DailyMotion, has been added to PSPTube!

Enthusiasm aside, those who haven't tried the earlier versions of PSPTube and are having trouble installing the application should do these steps in order to successfully get PSPTube working. Aside from making sure your PSP is already on CFW 3.71M33, take the following steps:

  • Download and Unzip the file in the download like below
  • Copy and Paste the PSPTube folder into your PSP's GAME folder
  • Boot up PSPTube from the PSP's main menu
As always, just download the file from the link below. Enjoy!

That only happens if you have a custom font installed

» Works better. Might add following features to description

Buffer now has a display (in seconds), as does the video's elapsed time, as well as the frames left to play (the... buffer).

Also, the Onsen feature appears to be an internet radio search, so (at least Japanese) internet radio is now a feature.

Overall, much better than last release. Keeps getting more badass. Again, where's a donation link?

 » Well...

I guess it's not in seconds, but something else. Regardless, there's a buffer meter.

damn this rocks :D but 'certain' videos in dailymotion requires login to view so lets hope the next version gets a login feature

 » uh!

guys, I've been following this application since it first came out, always updating to the latest release. However, I have never actually use it. And now, I don't remember how to use it.
I seem to recall you needed an account info that needed to be somewhere on the application folder. but I have no clue what is needed.

Any help? - thanks much!

btw... I'm running application on 3.71M33-4 under IRShell 3.81 on 1.50 kernel.
When I run it, it displays a grey background and simply stays there. (not even attempt to initiate a network connection).
- is there any english forums about this? thanks again.

You don't need this anymore, I remember in the first versions you needed to create a special developper account on youtube, now you don't need this.

Don't run it from 1.5 kernel.

if you want to use this in irshell your going to need to run it in 3.XX. this is built for the 3.XX kernal, and wont run under 1.5, also IR shell may make it more unstable, as it may use additional recources. I recomend just putting it in the game folder like the readme says, and launching it through the XMB it may not be as convienient but it works

Does this have NicoNico Douga support?

» has someone tried it yet

does anyone know if the save as function works in this one, or have they added a delete function yet. not sure if I want to update unless there is an actual performance difference. (also the last edition had begun DIVX support, but it ran to fast did they fix it)

I don't see this in his official site. See if this is legimate.

yes the save function works but haven't seen a delete button anywhere

   Re: fourmyfriends - 2008-01-06
 » more specificaly

I know that it does have a save function, however in the last release they added the "save as ..." to the menu, but it didn't function. Under the normal save mode the titles where all just jibberish, and a real pain to sort through when trying to figure out which ones to delete and keep

 » HELP

I have installed it on my psp and all, but when i ran it, all i get is a quick title screen flash, then a continuous black screen. BTW, i have CFW 3.71M33.

Also, how do you make something NOT run on kernal?

   Re: majorbb100 - 2008-01-07
 » .

put it in game or game371 i think. but i have 3.52 M33-4. im not gonna update till 3.80 M33

   Re: fourmyfriends - 2008-01-08
» a couple things to try, let me know

go into recovery mode and in options make sure to turn the game folder to the 3.71 kernal, and just put it in the game directory, launch it strieght from the xmb, it might also help to turn the cpu up to 333. Also have you put on updates for 3.71 there may be smaller bug fixes that might help

 » 2 things...

I didn't see this on the official site either...

I saw PSPTUBE 20071231 (12/31)
...

:/

so, im wondering where they found this..

Also, I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a way to turn off the buffer timer at the bottom right of the screen while watching a video. it's just a little bit annoying.

   Re: Skate4LifeisaPOSER - 2008-01-06
 » correction

**I didn't mean to put "buffer timer." after watching a video I realized it was just a simple video timer and T- timer. After messing around with the keys, I still don't see a way to hide the timer.

» Change date of dl link

The official site hasn't updated the dl link yet, but if you copy & paste the dl link into the url:

http://nekomimi.cafe.coocan.jp/.../PSPTube20071231.zip

and then change the date from 20071231 to 20080106, you can get the file from the server. It is already uploaded, its only that the dl hasn't been added/updated yet.

does the developer release their source? is this something an English speaking developer might be able to work on? something that could be tailored towards the US or Europe? it would be cool to have some English radio stations, and maybe some better readme's
