PSPTube 20080211 - youKU added, Daily Motion fixed - Image 1Homebrew coder SofiyaCat has just released a new version of the very handy application PSPTube, bumping it up to build 20080211.

For the uninitiated, this program allows users to play .FLV files on the Sony PSP without the need to convert them. As you all know, PSPTube releases are done in Japanese so changelogs don't come easily.

However, some of our readers have told us that the following improvements have been noticed:

  • veoh is GONE
  • youKU was added
  • fixed Daily Motion
If you've noticed some changes that we failed to list down, you can help us inform the rest of the PlayStation Portable homebrew community by putting your find in the comment section below.

QJ.NET would like to thank Ari Bornstein, SBrown, Nyutan & CLoud_V.02 for the heads up!

 » Gotta love PSPTube, but....

Everyone with a WiFi connection available will enjoy this app.
I have to ask, and I'm probably not the first to wonder, but where's the Pr0n ?

It's about time for a new addition I'd say...
Megarotic or something.
I mean what healthy young man wouldn't like to watch nice looking females perform hot and steamy action ON THEIR PSP !!

So what do you say SofiyahCat,...
I'd say ur followers are ready...

Peace out !
nice 0ne

Seriously man, that's just sad. I'm not dissing porn but if you're at home, use the computer. Out in places? You shouldn't be looking at porn.

   Re: PONKiE - 2008-02-11
 » Noooo !

Out in places?! Like on the bus or subway... ?
LoL !! People don't do that... right ?!

Hell no... not porn-on-the-go !
I have one pc at home which multiple people use, thus I don't want to polute it in any way.
I have a WiFi router and a Widescreen monitor in my bedroom which I use as a TV.

I also use the component cable with it to watch the movies from my bed when I stream them with iR Shell's nethost.

PSPTube also has the TV-out option, so one plus one +...

So you see... not on-the-go... It's my own homenetwork.

PR0N FTW!!!

   Re: bottmint - 2008-02-11
» if any porn site is added

it should be redtube. its got the same feel and look as youtube but its pure porn

   Re: PONKiE - 2008-02-12
 » Addition

I think a lot of people would like a nice looking GUI with this one.
Maybe there's even a way to let users add their own "Youtubelike" sites...

Don't you think that would be a good idea SofiyahCat ?

 » Meh...

Is YouKU any better than Veoh...? If not, I won't be getting this or any future iterations...

 » YouKU vs. Veoh

YouKU's for you if you understand japanese...

   Re: unknown_knight - 2008-02-11
 » Veoh............Noooooooo!!!

I prefer veoh because there are alot more things in english and video in full length not like youtube, Plus seems like Youku only loads 10% of a 20 min or more mins on PSPtube.

 » how to install

Put the PSPTube folder in GAME371 or GAME390 whatever version you're running. And you better be running CFW before you ask this.

   Re: conazo - 2008-02-11
 » Then...

ok i've done that already what's next and yes i have CFW

   Re: unknown_knight - 2008-02-11
 » installing...

Well i put my PSPTube in the GAME folder with the Kernel set to 3.XX and run the app, sfter loading the connection pres select to switch the sites and press circle to search and happy streaming
   by axisofevol - 2008-02-11
 » disabling YouKU etc.

It's a pain in the ass cycling through sites I don't want. All I need is youtube and dailymotion.

   Re: unknown_knight - 2008-02-11
» One more thing that was added to this version...

This version now has the option to make the screen go black while in a video.

/_ + Disable or enable the display bar/ Turns the screen black to save battery

 » is there any way

to view comments on videos with this app? Hallf the fun of browsing youtube is reading ppl's comments...

   Re: Metal Jody - 2008-02-11
 » reading youtube comments

that would take up too much RAM on the psp.

 » search limitation

hey sofia if you read this...can u make the searches in psptube by the "name" of the video instead of its "tags"? I tried editing the eboot file with hex editor for hours and changing the word 'tag" for the stage6 search to the word "search" and i even kept the same number of total blocks in the whole file but it would just display the first page of "videos" on stage6.com no matter what name i typed when searching..thanks :)
