PSP Homebrew Program: PSPTube - Image 1

A new build is out for PSPTube from homebrew developer SofiyaCat. For those who aren't familiar with the application, PSPTube allows your unit to play FLV videos without the need to convert the files.

PSPTube is now on release 20080224, with three new features in tow. Here's the changelog for this new release:

  • JavaScript can be added at the site.
  • This based on the part of the search for additional specifications.
  • Video Search part of the specification is subject to change
Please be careful in installing and using the the application, which is still in its evaluation stage. For more information, you can check out the previous releases of the program.

Thanks to Francis L. and ari bornstein for the heads up!

there is no youtube, they took out all the english sites

 » still

no pr0n! (for pr0n, add redtube.com)

what is this javascript feature? what's the use?

I personally dont understand what the three new changes are! that changelog was a bit vague.
Hoping in the future one can view comments...

still, one of the best apps out there--if not THE best!! good job sofiyacat!

 » ok

there was pr0n

   Re: StingBlah - 2008-02-24
 » where

was the pr0n? Which site is the pr0n one?

And why would sofiyacat remove youtube AND dailymotion? that totally beats the purpose of psptube. I have a feeling Ozvaldo is LYING, just for fun. Anybody else actually test this out?

If u are, hA! If ur not, sry Ozvaldo.

   Re: lilmetal - 2008-02-24
 » True...

This version allows you to add any site, as long as you have some javascript file... I'll look into this more and see what I can find.

   Re: arnookie - 2008-02-24
» how to add youtube or anyother javascript website

Well I have looked into this. It will support most sites if we can config the js files.
If and when I manage this I will post a link for js scripts for all sites I can think of.
eg youtube.js
veoh.js
dailymotion.js
legalmovies.tv
Stage6
then you will just need to put them in
psp game371 system sites folder

I Could do with some help though because I don`t know much about javascript. I will have to work from the js files already within psptube to get an idea of how to do this.

I will post again as soon as I do.
But if anyone knows javascript and how to compile it to work with this then please try also.

see ya

 » the beauty is...

you can goto KEEPVID.COM (on your pc) and download myspace and youtube vids in FLV format straight to your PSP via USB, you don't have to use your computer to store/convert them if you don't want to.

   Re: MitchenX - 2008-02-24
 » I correct myself.

The videos I had tested we freezing up halfway. But after reading Twitchet's message I ran the program with the wifi turned off. all videos work fine in this case, but i can't go online with it. no big deal for me, i'm going back to KEEPVID.COM tonight!!! :D

This app gets updated so often but it's still not working as it should. Aka as well as it does on the iPhone.

 » Fixed

Seeing how this is horrifically broken (i.e. no video whatsoever on a fat PSP)... I decided I'd at least fix the fact that there's no YouTube anymore.

Here's a YouTube Javascript file. Toss it into "PSPTube system sites".

   Re: ruffryder91290 - 2008-02-24
 » Dont Work

There is no video. The audio works until it reaches about 1 minute on all videos then stops.

   Re: FreePlay - 2008-02-24
 » I said that already

You'll notice that I already said there's no video whatsoever on a fat PSP. Slim PSPs work fine.

Also: http://freeplay.ircdotcom.com/pspdev/other/RedTube-20080224.js

   Re: FreePlay - 2008-02-24
 » BTW

RedTube's search engine is currently down for upgrades, so this script just searches by video ID. Search for any 4-digit number and you'll get a video.

   Re: FreePlay - 2008-02-24
 » Will not work.

This is just a generic script for getting download links. You have to completely recode it specifically for PSPTube.

   Re: Foolmonkey - 2008-02-24
 » well...

how the heck do you that
   by Spadeace9 - 2008-02-24
 » yea free plays rite

the java script has many syntax errors when compared to the proper syntax for psptube...damn it then can someone make a veoh javascript, made for the psp..other wise i would do it if it was the PC

 » i have to admit...

on further testing its not 100%... YouTube video is taking an aweful long time to even come up with the total time... i guess it works as proof of concept of js, but it will need a stable update.

 » damn!

everytime i want to see RedTube videos i cant see the video i could only hear the sound.I guess ill just have to wait for a more stable release.
