Update

This latest update of PSP Ubiquitous Amiga Emulator was done buy thinkp, a new member of the dev team at pspuae.com. Great work thinkp! If in case you're really uninterested with gaming history and you have no idea what the Amiga is, here's a brief bit of trivia about the emulator and the machine it is emulating. PSP - UAE emulates the Amiga 500 (A500), commodore's best-selling Amiga model. Now, the A500 was phased out back in 1992, because of the newer A600 and the A1200. Oddly though, the A1200 machine was similar to the A500.

Despite newer and more powerful versions, the 500 remained unmatched in popularity. PSP - UAE lets you experience that machine of old with your PSP. Here are is a list of changes made to the App.
  • optionfiles with names (name_of_the_disk.options)
  • savestates with names (name_of_the_disk.asf)
  • auto-save options when saving state (in folder STATE )
  • auto-load options when loading state (from folder STATE )
  • auto-load options when inserting disk
  • assign keys in controls menu with amiga keyboard
  • (press square to open/close keyboard and cross to select, triangle to delete button)
  • assign keyboard keys to the 4 d-pad directions in combination with the l+r shoulder buttons
  • (set 'Directional Buttons' in controls menu to 'Keys')
  • mouse speed option in hardware menu (from 5 [fast] to 1 [slow])
  • hi-res mouse speed option in hardware menu (from 5 [fast] to 1 [slow])
  • dual joystick control - same joystick on d-pad AND the analogue stick
  • Added folders for all files, now only the main EBOOT is in main folder (FOL)
You know the drill when it comes to these things right? Just be sure to check out the README file and read everything in it. That way you guys stay safe.

» Nice to see updates on this

Great emulator- too bad about the speed though, turrican 2 and other games work fine if the sounds turned off and maybe if its on frameskip 2.

Erm, the A1200 was nothing like the A500, it was far more upgradeable, had a 14mhz cpu, advanced graphics and 2mb ram. Its just that the older games ran on this beast. Yes I still have an A1200 - kicks ass

» Don't care about minor tweaks!

Just work on the speed, dammit! I repeat it over and over again!

DO - INCREASE - THE - SPEED!!!

Go take lessons from Zx-81, stop your social life, I don't care, just finally make it work faster!

...

apart from that, it's a nice little emulator. I recently described it on my blog :

Ah, Wolfchild...

» I hate those emulator reviews...

They NEVER tell us if the emulator runs faster or even close to playable. PSPUAE never played well, and if a new version came out, we should know if there was some speed improvement... Bah!

 » a1200 / 500 ??

Oddly though, the A1200 machine was similar to the A500

In what respects? They where both called Amiga?

Now if you where to say the 500+ and the 600 then yes but A1200 similar to 500…. Are you on crack?

 » welkomst

For now, the Atari ST Emulator CaSTaway for PSP still beats this hands down. All its games run pretty much to spec, and it's just awesome ...

 » LOL

As usual, again, nothing but negative comments. And the comment about ZX-81, I DONT CARE!!!!!!, sick of hearing people say that. Go search the DCEMU forums, and you will see your answer.

This will be my last visit to PSPUPDATES due to all the negative comments, this has to be the worst site for negative members, any update is an improvement. If you dont like it, go play the SNES emu which is even slower and on frameskip 3,4 or even 5. Funny thing is no one moans about that.

Ric is working hard on the FAME C (TO GIVE SPEED INCREASE), and I AINT GOING TO RUSH HIM. I am also currently communicating with the guy who has ported E-UAE to GPX2, we are sharing info (to be honest dont even know why we bother after comming here).

My final word, if you cant find games playable, then im sorry theres no pleasing you, :(. Tried working out a good config, which might need slight tweaking whilst ingame.

 » sorry

Sorry about that - I meant no disrespect, just that I wanted to recommend CaSTaway to those who thought the Amiga emulator was too slow, and it has the added benefit that the Atari OS (STOS) is actually in the public domain.

Of course PSPUAE is still great, and I very much appreciate you guys are still working on it. The Amiga has a lot of great and unique games and is a much harder machine to emulate, I know this, so kudos and good luck!

Sorry, Arwin my comments were not aimed at you.
I just got angry, when the ZX-81 can make this emulator 100% speed comment. He has already been asked and rufused to join the team, but instead said he would rather do his own port. So theres the answer for all the people who mention ZX - 81, he said this over 2 months ago, so can we drop it please.

» JOTD is better at being French

when ZX-81 even manages to make his Amstrad CPC emulator full-speed, perhaps then he should be allowed to join the pspuae team.

I didn't want to annoy you that much. I am sorry.
