Ó

Lock it down, boys, no one's getting through. If it comes to it, sometimes you just want to deny the use of your PSP to other people entirely. The reason might be any of the following: you're afraid they might mess with something with ill effect, or you're trying to *ahem* hide something in the PSP, or you just hate the guy who constantly borrows your PSP. Well, Propel (now goes by Access_Denied) brings his PSPassword Protect to v2 status, implementing a host of changes to lock your PSP down like Fort Knox.

And since one of the changes includes a Password editor, we can safely say that all those complaints about not being able to change the password to something only YOU know should go out the window.

The full changelog, with some warnings we decided to embolden and reddify to get the point across:

  • Added Support for Custom Password
    • Warning, there is no way to recover your lost password, don't forget it
  • Added a config file editor - Edit config on your PSP anytime
  • Added a password editor - Can be any 4 digit combination
  • Added option to remove custom firmware in recovery mode
  • Strengthened security by hiding the password in the hex bytes of an unknown file
This improved security package comes complete with a Readme file that includes all necessary instructions, so that our Comments section will not be resplendent with the woeful tales of people who have bricked their PSPs because they did not Read The You-Know-What Manual. As Propel/Access_Denied himself puts it,

**WARNING** I am not responsible for ANY damages to your PSP. This program writes to the flash and has the potential to render your PSP useless. Use at YOUR OWN RISK.

Enough said.

» got to have some safe mode

it should have the option to reflash the psp enitre psp's flash like revovery mode as a fail safe to forgeting that password. at least that way a person who dosen't know how to re-flash a psp won't be able to access it. hell if you steal my psp and know how to re-flash it using a daxar file you deserve it.
