PSPAfter releasing science-based homebrews PSPeriodic and its TIFF version, homebrew applications developer, Propel, came forward yet again with a rather sensitive release. The Illinois-based developer just produced a password protection program for the PSP. This application locks the PSP when booting from a cold boot. While everything was coded by Propel, PSPassword Protect uses Dark_Alex's custom firmware to run.

Before loading this application to your handhelds, we here at QJ and Propel have a couple of reminders for you guys. First, remove any other custom firmware in your PSPs as this program, as we have said, uses a specific custom firmware. And by the way, full functionality can only be enjoyed when using a 1.5.

Moving on, run the three flashers that are included in the download. While you can delete them after use, try to keep the config file flasher as it may prove to be useful later on. The universal password is 8314. Also, be informed that the new config.txt must be in the memory stick root.

Remember, PSPassword Protect writes to the flash of your PSP and has the potential to brick it. Use it with proper care. If you are not familiar with this stuff, we strongly suggest that you catch on with your readings first through our previous posts. While Propel mentioned that he's tried this app on his PSP, he claims that there is still a chance something unfortunate could happen.

 » Corrupted Icon

When i put the folders on to my psp and go to the game folder i get corrupted icons and i can't do anything.

You have to put each eboot separelyt into the boot folder and then select auto run game/boot.eboot.pbp

"The universal password is 8314"

You sir, are an idiot. What good is password-protecting your PSP if everyone knows the above? Yeah, this sort of thing is necessary for people that forget their passwords, but if that were to happen, the universal password should be available under an "email me to get it" sort of agreement.

Either that, or if they forget their password, give 'em a number (we'll say 1234 for example), that they'll email to you, then you'll email a password specific to that number back to them. You could just double each number, so they'd end up having to put in "2468". It's not that difficult..

r u *****in stupid or r u just high? this is Propel's first psp password protector. which means he is probably going to expand on this to make it so u can change the password. it's people like u that r *****in retarded. there's Dgen, Snes, Nes, gba, gb, gbc, and others. when they came out with the first Dgen did they stop expanding on it? no they continued on it to make it better and add more functions. same with the other emulators. he's probably going to expand on this. if he doesn't then u would be right. until then, U R COMPLETELY STUPID.
