If you recall, PSMonkey / Nexis2600 released the first N64 emulator and it could only play a few demos with poor framerate. So, if you are expecting to play a Final Fantasy game on this emulator tomorrow, I would suggest brining those thoughts down as it most likely will not be playable. |

best news i heard in awail from psp updates good bye snes hello GBA and PSX :-)
hels ya thats kool
It's about time someone is working on a PSX emu. Here, everyones trying to make an N64 emu, yet no one is working on a PSX emu, which would have a better chance of being playable. The alpha release probably won't work so great, but lets hope in the future that this emu becomes as hard-worked on as Daedalus, because if so, maybe it could become playable.
Besides, a lot more people own a PSX than an N64... I personally thought PSX was a better system (RPGS).
yay
@9
It was just a simple clerical error, chill boddy, and drink in the love that is PSX.
wow nice thx
I was beginning to wonder if we'd see a group who'd work on a PS1 emu for the PSP. Just another awesome piece of homebrew to look forward to!

How are thease going to work?!?
-Right and left Analog(all axis)
-L3 R3 Button
-R2 L2
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
There is no L3 or R3 buttons on the PSX. Those two buttons were introduced in the PS2, I believe. The Sound button and Screen button could be used as L2 and R2, but it would be a akward. The two analog sticks aren't required for all games. FF7 doesn't use them.
Great start at a emulator, but I'll wait until its at playable speeds or for the official one by $ony.
OMG yessssssssssss
this looks even smoother than Daedalus!
TO #16 there are actually R3 and L3 on PSX games like Ape Escape
"Winners dont use drugs"
What about Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidge Racer!!!! ?
Yeah I sort of forgot about that. Well some of the earlier games would work great without those buttons. Everything before Ape Escape :P. I have the old demo somewhere at my house.
Aren't roms from cartages and cds are isos?
hmm this is good news, great news infact especially if it gets running to a playable speed which i think is very possible due to the fact sony are making an official emulator. i think in the long run this might harm sony sales in umd games...but memory stick sales...particularly larger capacity sticks will fly off shelves.
I've only been here (QJ.net) for a week and I'm amazed at how many of the comments come off as rude or plain vicious. Why don't you just enjoy the fact that some people actually try to use their brain for constructive stuff - like programming all these wonderful stuff for your hardware.
Imagine the expertise it takes to pull off some of these things - despite Sony's efforts to prevent them. A little gratitude is the least one should give.
Lastly - who gives a **** about timezones??? The guys running this site are clearly working at maximum speed without us paying them (there are new publications popping out constantly here) - if you don't like to get the latest info on the PSP stuff, go to a site that fits you better.
But umm, this is by Yoshihiro and if you remember his 2.0 downgrader video, boy it looked real, but it was later proven fake. I really hope Yoshi's changed his ways.

DON'T ASK FOR ISO'S DUMBASS'S!!!! Use the google for *****s sakes!
Thank you.... :)

This is nice and all but I think I will wait for the sony one. First off it will work much better since it is being programed by professionals with official tools.
Secondly Sony will most likely stream line the games to make the file size the smallest it can be to run so no need for a huge iso file.
Last but not least they will have a list of games that run on it. Unlike this where it is pretty much trial and error as to what games will play. Although it wouldn't take me more than 5min to download a PS1 iso I don't want to have to download a large iso file just to find out it doesn't work.
Don't get me wrong I have great respect for all developers and the time and effort they put into their creations. It is just that this is not something I am really excited about.
looks good...I was expecting more peopel to have posted comments though...it seemed to run at a decent speed
yoshihiro is a joke, anything with his name on it is BS, i wouldn't pay attention to this at all
lol batman!!
Once it gets released then people like NJ can make it tha Bizzomb
I can not wait!!! Ive been waiting for a good new release for a while now
