Cover of Sony Computer Entertainment's Patapon for PSP - Image 1While Sony Computer Entertainment's upcoming 2D rhythm platformer Patapon doesn't exactly sport state of the art graphics, it has several pros that are going for it such as innovative gameplay and addictive strategy elements. Adding itself to this list is the fact that Patapon will be tagged with an affordable price of a mere US$ 19.99.

This announcement was made by Jeff Reese, Sony's Director of Software Marketing, on the PlayStation Blog. This is definitely good news for those of you who are looking to get their hands on this cute game.

Reese mentions that because of the game's unique and highly creative style, they wanted to make it more accessible to gamers by introducing it at a lower cost. The US$ 19.99 price tag is normally reserved for the Greatest Hits line for the PSP, however Reese believes that the game will do well for the younger and casual gamer market enough to set its price as such.

Patapon is scheduled to be released in North America this February 26 and will be exclusive to the PlayStation Portable.
