Danzel has been hard at work on a telnet client for the PSP, and has released Peldet v0.2 Here is what he had to say:

I've been working on a telnet client for psp.

Currently has about all the basic stuff you need including:

  • Ability to chose which wifi to connect to
  • Chose where to telnet to
  • Favorites

Give it a test. Its good enough that you could connect to a MUD and have a play. Text input is done through p-sprint, so check out its site to see how to use that, link is in the readme.

You can get it in our PSP Download section [here].

Hey this is great! I had always wondered if there would be a way to do telnet on the PSP. Now if we can get a keyboard for the PSP I can play some of my MUDs every now and then. Not as great as doing it on a computer (you have more options for macros, hotkeys, etc) but still a step in the right direction. Nice to see that this is possible on the PSP.

Dumbass, that text based ip is called a host name. You can go into windows and at command prompt type tracert host.com

then use the ip it gives you
obviously you replace host.com with your hostname

on a unix platform type
traceroute host.com

Heh...

I don't think you have any business using telent if you didn't know this

Another thing,
Telnet is 100% raw unencrypted data, totally unsecure... yeah a telnet client is cool, but why not make an ssh or ssh2 client???

Then we would be safe and functional... none of my favorite shells use telnet they are all ssh

oh yeah

I am GOD
