PiMPStreamerThat machine DickyDick1969 is at it again with another release of his amazing homebrew application PiMPStreamer. And it's more 'pimpy' than ever !

For those who've been under a rock all this time, PiMPStreamer is a homebrew application which allows you to stream your videos wirelessly to your PSP. In a way, it emulates the very expensive Location Free Base Player, for free !

Here's what's new in the latest version 0.3 :

  • PMP Mod v2 changes are incorporated.
  • Skin Support has been removed temporarily to enable clean exit.
  • Newer Packet Structure means that more features like Variable Bitrates can be supported later.
To use the new PMP Mod v2 format, use all the files in this release. Do not mix these files with an older version.

Also, DickyDick1969 is looking for a redesign of his site. If you have some free time and are good at designing webpages, make sure to contact him from his site.

» Some "minor" bugs here .....

PMP files do NOT show up, you have to rename them all to ".avi" - WHY ?????

NONE of my PMP files work, they ALL show up "no fd" and then "pmp_file_open: can´t open stream"

Indeed they ALL work PERFECTLY ..... So what is going wrong here ???

@ #18: this app does not stream .pmp files.

It is a server which encodes your .avi movies on the fly and streams them to your psp in full resolution.

 » @best bitrate

your audio is choppy cuz you got the thing on 96....keep it at 128 and i use the default 400...it stream fine nomatter what the bitrate is and if you go under 200 for video the quality is very low...so keep it high...also keep the ms sleep at 0

 » more impressed than ever

I've gotten through most of a family guy episode with only a couple stutters. Audio is a bit glitchy, but not bad enough that it isn't watchable. This is very cool!

Much thanks for an awesome program. Impressive for someone with 3 little buggers and a full time job!

 » @ #21

you should be good in this version with just changing the stream ip, the author changed the .ini file in this version and got rid of the section where you had to change the net ip.
