PiMPStreamer

DickyDick1969, has again updated his homebrew application PiMPStreamer, this time to v0.7. PiMPStreamer allows you to stream videos (AVI, MPG, MP3 etc) wirelessly from your PC to your PSP in real-time, without rescaling or muxing.

Here is what is new in v0.7:
  • Addition of the latest ffmpeg svn dll's
  • Addition of network selection and host selection
  • Addition of other codecs
  • Pre-work for images (not working fully as yet)
According to DickyDick196, more features will follow - he is just busy with the list! Also note that the latest PiMPStreamer has a changed ini (PSP), and so DickyDick1969 urges us all to check it out. PiMPStreamer has only been tested to work on firmware v1.5 PSPs.

 » Sorry *****y

But I think it totally Blows.... and heres WHY

Its clear to ME that this program has a lot of potential.. and I'm not sure exactly WHY this kinda sucks for me, but rest assured it dies after like 3 seconds of some clips, and stutters like a champion on others.

Now does anyone have a reason? and dont give me port forwarding. Because Im not trying to access it from starbucks, I'm in my home, I have GREAT router, so whats the problem? is it because Im using XP?

 » Wow.

This some excellent homebrew. Just tried this today. This is my saviour! XD My PC sucks so bad that most videos take overnight to convert to anything. This is definately a worthwhile piece of homebrew.

Now, it isn't perfect. I'd like some more cropping and quality options, I hate teh squishing.

I know, this is specifically for streaming video, but why is this the only option I've seen for watching non converted video on the PSP? Honestly, why can't we just ya know, watch avi, xvid, divx, or other video formats off the memory stick? Converting is such a pain.

 » Stupid fullscreen flashing ads...

PSPupdates whats up with the fullscreen flashing ads?

But anyway this release seems to lack the aspect ratio changing the last version had.

Illeagal Machine for the video not to be choppy, at least for me, u have to have almost a 100% wifi signal, hope that solves ur problem :)

 » try downing the bitrate

i had the same prob, down your bitrate to about 450 to 500, maybe lower if your computers slow too. I have bout 12-25% signal in my room and it will work fine then. Also update your codecs they might be causing problems too.
