PiMPStreamer! - Image 1

DickyDick1969's media streaming application is back with a new version. PiMPStreamer v0.90 is here, and with it comes the promise of WPA compatibility.

For those who haven't heard of PiMPStreamer, it's an application that'll allow users to stream audio and video from their PCs, Sony PS3s, and Nintendo Wiis to their PlayStation Portable (PSP) in real time. Now, the new version apparently adds WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) compatibility, which should mean increased connection security, among other things.

PiMPStreamer works for 1.5 original and 3.X custom firmware, with the setup automatically installing it for both setups. An added addition to the program is that you can easily quit the homebrew application by pressing the home button. In any case, give it a try, don't forget to check the readme files, and don't hesitate to drop DickyDick1969 a line for more information.

 » *****y*****1969 Rules!!!!

*****y*****, thank you so much for keeping up on this amazing app. I've been using it since it first came out. It is definely the most used app on my PSP. Just wanted to say thanks and keep up the incredible work.

Maybe in the future you can add a method for advancing frames without exiting the stream...would be great but not necessary.

Anyways thanks again,,, you rule!!!

 » doesnt work here

if I open pmp streamer 0.90 on my psp it says "could not load PSP_NET_MODULE_COMMON" .
If I run pmp streamer 2.01 sub and i try to connect to my wlan it freezes at connection state 2. The web browser in the xmb works just fine with the same connection. Help!

 » impressive

I know that WPA was a tall order for 3.XX OE homebrew and that Ahman and Raf I believe have struggled with it. Its nice to see that its being overcome. Pimpstreamer is a must have homebrew that keeps getting better. Thanks *****y*****1969.

 » WPA Works!

This works flawlessly on my WPA network. Thanks for this update!! Will be donating soon! I did have to copy the pmp.ini file from the sub directory to the pimpstreamer90 directory.

   by profile (Unregistered) - 2007-05-02
 » how?

How did you make it work Big Fan?
I have everything setup properly, still no go, on pimpstreamer 201 i get connection host error.
On pimpstreamer90 it crashes on 3of6 connection.
The original file was named pimpstreamer090, i renamed it to pimpstreamer90, and placed it in PSP/GAME, then used PSPINSTALL and that installed everything properly, then i had to move pimpstreamer90 to PSP/GAME340 for it to run, otherwise i got a PSP_NET_MODULE_COMMON error.

But, still i get a crash on 3of6 connection.

I forgot to add that I did move pimpstreamer090 from game to game303 folder. I am running on 3.03OE-C.

I'm also on a mac, i'd love a mac version.
I am using crossover to run windows apps, but it takes up a bit of RAM.
I'd rather have a native version. AND WOULD GLADLY donate for it.

This works in 3.10OE but not 3.30OE or 3.40OE.
Just tested it on my psp in all 3 versions (and all revisions).

It's about damn time!! I love this app, but it was the only thing keeping me from using it. WEP is so crappy it could be cracked in 2min. Thanks to the devs...

Not only does WPA work *FLAWLESSLY* but you can actually FAST FORWARD AND REWIND properly now. WINNAR.

 » 3.40OE workes

I have 3.4OE and I got it to work in both 90 and 201. 201 worked instantly but to get 90 to work I had to move it into the game240 folder and copy the pmp.ini file from 210 to 90. It also worked in both 1.5 and 3.4 kernal modes

   Re: xavierlee - 2007-05-04
» Perhaps you can help me please

I'm also using 3.40OEA but I was only able to get 210 to work ,and it's wonderful
but 90 turn off itself.
About the pmp.ini what is it and what is the proceedure?
I really would like to learn.

Thanks in advance
