PSP AV cable - Image 1

If you're getting the slimmer Sony PSP model due out next month, you'll probably want to take advantage of its video out feature, right? If so, you're going to be interested in the AV cable that you'll need to view PSP content in other monitoring devices.

Play-Asia is already open for pre-orders on this accessory. Their site displays the image of the PSP AV cable reproduced above, and the info on their page suggests that it's 2.5 meters long. That's roughly eight feet for you.

Pricing hasn't been revealed yet by official sources, so you might want to do some verification for yourself. Play-Asia says that the AV Cable will be in stock by September 13, 2007. The read link below will take you right to their pre-order page. We'll update you for more on this new accessory.

Its just a matter of software. The plug is on the PSP 100 also.

ye, the plug looks like it has 4 pins, instead of the orginal 3 in the psp 1001. it would be cool if we could have Video output on our normal psp's.

the plug on the new psp has 6 pins disposed like this: ...... , the old psp has 6 pins disposed like ::: , if no extra hardware is involved maybe it'll be possible to output av on the old model... it would be really nice, but i have doubts it'll happen. i wish i'm wrong anyway :D

So it looks like sony changed the headphone connector (serial port) on the new PSP specifically so you would have to buy the new non homebrew enabled one to get TV out. Let's just hope somebody makes a cable for the old PSP because I almost gurarantee the old PSP also has the same capability and even has some hints to it in the firmware.
