It's just people like you are always ungrateful little pricks.
Ps3 updated it's internet browser flash version? BAAWWW SO USELESS!
Guess what, some people may enjoy the features given to them, you're opinion isn't the same as every one elses.

I mean don't you see it?
YAY, SOny allows us to create subfolders... OMFG.
Oh wait, there already are Filer and IRShell which both can do MUCH MORE.
Subfolder creaton is something that should've been added a long time ago.
And this is the ONLY real useful feature of this update. FACE IT: the rest is marketing bulls***
Sony should focusing on things we NEED.
I mean almost every feature of the PSP firmware pales in comparison to the available homebrew apps, and Sony doesn't give a sh*t about integrating these feasture into the official Firmwares.

» what
exactly what potential does keeping tiffs have anyway
i havent seen a digital camera record in tiff.
seems to me tiff is mainly for exploits anyway, so why not get rid of it altogether.
i couldnt see many people complaining if they did.
i think it would be a smart move by sony.
but it seems they've only blocked this tiff, leaving the door open for more possible exploits in the future.

» TIFF Exploit Patched
The TIFF exploit doesn't work on 5.50 so **DO NOT UPDATE YOUR PSP!!!**, I tested it on my Slim and the TIFF file say "unsuported format". So if you have a PSP 3000 or Un-pandorable PSP, stay in 5.03.

» No support for TIFF.
I went back to 5.00m33. Can't wait for Dark Alex to beat Sony to death with a new cfw. ^.^

Finally, sub-folder support. Now they just need to add better shuffle functionality.

It already supported one level of subfolders? I'm still downloading, whats different in this subfolder support?

Maybe it lets you create and delete empty folders!
Now just plug in the USB cable to the PC to actually move files into those folders...
I hope this isn't the case.

Man, some of you guys...
WE KNOW, we know not to update! We're all here for the same reasons, so there's no need to warn us about what will happen. I'm not trying to sound like a ***** but when it's said more then once...
Also, I find it amusing about the TIFF exploit, because if I remember correctly some people was saying, "Sony is waiting for that HEN to be released so they can patch it!" But they didn't wait at all, and let's be honest, if you were Sony, it was a good move. Then again if I was Sony, I wouldn't restrict the PSP by so much to begin with, but that's beside the point.
Seems like there is some useful things in this update though, quite a big jump (firmware wise) but the only thing I'll use is the sub folders option, which will be nice. Now... can I please, please have some more codecs for the video player!? *Sigh*
I am sad cat.

They had nothing new to put in, so they gave these little features to convince ppl to patch the exploit.

i bet sonys got a vault of updates lol, when homebrew scene finds an exploit, they wait a few days and announce a new update, why wont they just give in? were the consumer making there product sell?....sony your a bunch of idiots, if u let us do this your sales would be much higher.

You moron, it's not the homebrew scene that Sony is wanting to stop, it's the damn piracy. So many people have their systems modded these days, just so they can pirate. I mean, I'm constantly seeing ads on craigslist for people to mod systems for this very purpose (they even say "never pay for games again" in the ads). If the piracy wasn't possible, I'm not too sure Sony would give a flying ***** whether or not homebrew existed.

Think of it this way:
Without homebrew Sony might not have found out what the true potential of the PSP was, and might have lost out on some games (see No Gravity: Plague Of Mind). Sony won't give in because they just want to tie up loose ends and to find ideas from the homebrew scene. Their only loss from homebrew is the ISO "supposed back-up" launcher that allows piracy of commercial games. I personally don't see any other loss they have from it. The homebrew scene has also kept the PSP alive over the last 6 month with the slow influx of games while they had commercial devs woking on new games. Wihtout homebrew Sony could lose a lot from the PSP market. There are exploits for a reason, Sony only make it more exciting. Also, on TIFF, I've never had a picture formatted in TIFF and doubt I ever will, so this is Sony tying up yet another loose end.

So you're saying, "Instead of that teeny, tiny problem of MASSIVE PIRACY, homebrew only helps the PSP! Look, we even got an entire ONE GAME out of it!"

When did I say that piracy was a small problem for Sony. All I'm saying is I don't believe Sony are making any other losses anywhere else.

It should be unlocked. game dev's are speding less time and making crappier games. they think that they can continue to make crappy games and ppl will pay up 2 50-60 bucks on that flap doodle. LISTEN 2 PART CAREFULLY I think they should make CFW because the Homebrew DEV's work hard and deserve to play with their psp's how ever they want 2 they paid for them.
