ps_spotThis just in: PlayStation Spots are now up and running all over the United Kingdom! Our PSP-crazy English friends can now flock to these meccas to download exclusive PSP content without the pains of complicated downloading instructions or messy wires. PlayStation Spot is a free service that allows PSP owners to download game demos, trailers, movies, and other data from download terminals. It debuted at the Tokyo Game Show last year, and eventually made its first retail appearance at the Sony building in Tokyo's Ginza district.

Here's a rundown of the hottest spots in town:

  •   ePlay: Unit 17a Broadmead Gallery, The Mall Galaries, Broadmead, Bristol. BS1 3XB
  •   Game: 100 Oxford St, London WD1 9LL
  •   Game: 15 Crown Walk, Milton Keynes, MK9 3AH, 01908 232 761
  •   Gamestation: 134A Princes Street, Edinburgh, EH2 4AH
  •   Gamestation: 138 New Street, Birmingham, B2 4NS
  •   HMV:  150 Oxford St, London W1D 1DJ
  •   HMV: Trafford - 136, Peel Avenue, The Trafford Centre, Manchester, Lancashire M17 8BH
  •   Kings Cross: PSP goodies will be available here for two weeks, starting on July 17.
  •   Virgin: Whiterose- Albion Arcade, Albion Street, Leeds, LS1, 5ER
  •   Virgin: 235 Buchanan Street, Glasgow, G1 2NG
Downloadable content will also be available at the Futuresonic Festival, as Sony PSP will be co-hosting the event in lieu of Futuresonic's 10th year Anniversary: Futuresonic Festival Hub Bambers, Oldham St. (corner of Hilton St.) Northern Quarter Manchester.

Thanks a lot SlappyC for the info!

 » Puerile ignorant American's

It makes me laugh how these kids have nothing better to do then post remedial messages on a website . Also before you ask, I frequent the Internet for no more than an hour a day because I prefer to go out with my mates and play football (not American) and the like.

But most of all it's the blinding ignorance and stupidity that I find hilarious. It's like the typical: "We saved your arses", response that the American education system spawns for World War II, which fails to mention that the Red Army fought off the majority of the German's and invaded Germany first.

The people that argue back in the same stupid fashion are even worse.

 » Question

Hey quick question to anyone, I have 1.5 psp with Devhook, can I emulate 2.7 and download the demos?

by cheesus crust! (Unregistered) - 2006-07-23
 » cheesus crust!

they obviously are going to get them in the US too, let the UK get something first for once. aslo keep the politics out of the psp websites. If I want a history lesson I'll go back to school.

by Surreal Nightmare (Unregistered) - 2006-07-23
 » In response to 20.

It's hard to say, considering there's a new firmware planned to be released next week it's likely that Devhook will have been patched for the Playstation Spot's. I plan to get a second PSP so that I can enjoy homebrew while still being able to play the latest games and game demos.

   by huds601 - 2006-07-24
 » Not quite yet...

I've been into ePlay in Bristol, and they're not getting there's for another 3 weeks, despite the launch. Problems from Sony or something, but they have promised it'll be there by September latest...

   by huds601 - 2006-07-24
 » Also....

They're not in until the 28th July according to the official spot website...

http://www.playstationspot.co.uk/

And there's 11 in total so far, this post only shows 10.
