kids love their games - Image 1The 2009 Today's Gamers International Survey reveals a fact that has been pretty obvious for quite a while now: more and more US citizens consider playing video games as their primary past time.

The survey showed that 83% of the US citizens polled play video games, with this activity being the main choice of entertainment over watching TV or surfing the Internet. And gender apparently doesn't matter, too. Reportedly, 80% of all American females that participated in the survey admitted to playing games, while 87% of the men do. That's a no-brainer right there.

Female gamers were found, however, to favor playing on PC, with 54% expressing their preference for it, while only 44% of the US men do. It was not identified, however, whether or not the games that the females play are actual video games, or if they counted those game applications on Facebook.

If gender doesn't matter, then age shouldn't too. It was also found that young American boys between the age of 8-12 years spend an average of a whopping 13 hours a week playing their video games.

Europeans, on the other hand, were found to play less, racking up only 72% of admitted gamers among the participants.

» Oh no! And I thought, that hamburgericans

are eating hamburegers for fun and watch Jerry Springer... Oh well... stupid me. :)

» And the really funny part...

...is that d4ntes probably thinks Americans are ignorant. Irony is classic.

 » Cheeseburgers

I eat hamburgers because they taste good, not because they are fun. Mmmm... cow... If the good lord had not meant for me to eat you, he would not have made you so slow and tasty.

   Re: d4ntes - 2009-11-07
 » You know I'm right:)

That's my point, you're eating to much. Fatmericans are too fat in general. Come here to Poland, and see for yourself, how people should really look like:)

» Ignorance is bliss, isn't it?

And the Polish are known for throwing back Vodka all day. Better fat than raging drunk I say.

Oh, you mean you DON'T do that? The stereotype ISN'T true? Well American stereotypes aren't true either. Learn something before you try to speak next time.

   Re: d4ntes - 2009-11-07
» There is only one difference....

So, you're telling me, that when I was in US (2007-2008), all those fat hamburgericans were STEREOTYPES?
They were hires extras, just to make bad impression, right? You know, I like my stereotype about vodka (that isn't true) better, than your stereotype about fatness and stupidity (that i've witnessed, fatness of course, but stupidity also at some degree). You can't argue with facts...

   Re: dd409 - 2009-11-07
» Seeing as I've lived here my entire life...

...I think I have a better idea of what it's like here than you do. Just saying.

I'm also going to say that it is human psychology to remember the bad and forget the good, and exaggerate events as they grow older. You obviously ignored anyone who was of normal weight while you visited here, remembered only the few overweight people you saw, then blew it out of proportion in your memory. You can't argue with psychology...

Also, stereotyping is the epitome of both stupidity and lazyness, because it means you believe what you hear and are too lazy to find out for yourself whether or not it's true. One visit to the US is not enough to say you know all about everyone who lives here, sorry.

hey d4ntes... you must have been in Wisconsin from 2007-2008 ;)
And besides, I've seen a lot of fat Polish too... and just for the record, my Polish friend and his family used to keep vodka in their freezer... guess it must be true huh? ;) lmao

   Re: d4ntes - 2009-11-10
 » Why so agressive? :)

You know, those fat people, were not even close to all bad things that happened. But let me just put it as simple, as it gets: As Polish I wasn't welcome in US for some fu**** reason (at the beginning my intentions and attitude were very friendly). When they (US people:) ) saw my PSP and Dell laptop, it was like: Ohh, you've got PSP in Poland!! Oh man... And a laptop too... It's dell!! Oh man.... don't tell me you've got Internet also in Poland...." " Oh man, you managed to exchange your currency in Poland!? You can buy dollars in Poland?! S**t..." And your jokes about Polish... let me just say, they are humiliating, like we were animals or worse.... And that was my first day in US...

I take it, you don't have a job then, alright for some.
How do you afford to buy games, unless of course you pirate everything, which would explain a lot.

I'm not an Americant but a lot of the people I know seem to spend more time and money on games than any other media. It's at the stage now where some people will play DS games during TV shows.

   by squall_83 - 2009-11-06
 » wtf

I don't like how this articles says these people "admitted" to playing games. It kinda makes it sound like it's a bad thing. One usually doesn't "admit" to something unless they were trying to hide it to begin with.

man... nothing connected to facebook can be considered a video game.

Ugh, I bet that most of those "gamers" are playing msn chess and think they're "gamers".
