With only a couple of weeks since the release of the LuaPlayerHM8 drivers, the official release of the homebrew application has finally gone live. Developer homemister recently dropped by and informed us that we can now download the new build through the project release thread on the QJ.NET forums. The PSP is solid. No need to worry about the ongoing competition between it and the DS, and never mind that Apple's iPhone has joined in the ruckus. If you like the idea of having MSPaint installed on your PSP, then homebrew developer Gefa's PaintMIXER is the closest thing you can get to Paint. It's a good clone of Microsoft's ubiquitous drawing application - go check it out. The changelog in the full article.

Thanks in large part to Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Sony is licking some serious PlayStation 3 sales chops. However, the overall leadership remains with Kyoto-based Nintendo as their twin juggernauts Wii and DS posted huge stats again. The official reactions of both companies after the jump.

Classic Sega gaming enthusiasts will definitely welcome the latest version of homebrew developer notaz' PicoDrive, the Sega Genesis/Megadrive and Sega Pico emulator. At a meeting held during E3 2008, PSP Brand Manager John Koller confirmed that Sony was looking into creating a native PlayStation Store for the handheld. Learn more about this, as well as some of the implications of a native PSN on the PSP after the jump.
