Oh, he's feeling the pressure alright. Hideo Kojima, creator of the famed Metal Gear series, is admitting that he does feel the intense pressure from people for him to continue with it, even when Solid Snake has already been technically retired in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots .
In an interview with Develop Mag, Kojima states that if he quits Konami, then maybe the pressure will be a bit off. "But since Konami handles the business side of our operations, yeah, there's definitely a demand to continue a series as successful as Metal Gear."
He also waxed existentialist as he answered a question on whether he would want to work on smaller projects after the massive MG series. "Personally, I would love to work on a smaller project. But, thinking about the time I have left to survive, I'd rather spend that time working on bigger projects." Isn't he concerned that big risks come along with big ideas? "We have to think that the industry that we're in is a hit industry. You've got to love the risk." It's no wonder then that Kojima is the successful artist that he is now. And in line with that, you can just very well expect that his next project is a really big one. The interview also talked about how Kojima won the West over. If he really doesn't want to work on MGS anymore, he should just have Snake killed off. In a good way of course.

Did you even see MGS4's ending? He's pretty much dead shortly after the game is over.

Idiot, did you even watch all of the ending? I mean the part that comes up during the credits and then after the credits? Do that and then make a reply.
Anyway, I think he can continue Metal Gear without Snake if he wanted to. He's a masterful story teller and could pull it off while keeping fans happy. Snake is essentially retired unless he can figure out some kind of way to clone Snake (again?) or something along those lines. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

» NarooN..
He's trying to say that Snake is pretty much a dead guy walking and not that he did shoot himself(which he didn't).
They did something to Snake's DNA so that he can't be cloned if I remember right. I don't think his DNA(which is inside the nucleus) can replicate inside a new cell(part of process of cloning).
So Raiden is one of the only choices Kojima can go. The other is remakes of the classics. I wouldn't mind remakes of Metal Gear(not MGS).

If you mean the Foxdie didn't Big Boss say it was neutralized? The nano machines Drebin gave him affected the Nanomachines already in his body mutating and neutralized the process so he wasn't a walking weapon anymore. They didn't clarify if that meant that the accelerated aging was also neutralized though. Either way I think they finished off his story well enough to move on to another character. I like Old Snake, but I don't want to play another game as him.

» Wow.
You can see him pretending to shoot himself even if you don't start the game. The entire main menu scene is just the epilogue.
My comment "he's dead AFTER the game is over" obviously referred to how he had a very short time to live, with Otacon and Sunny living with him till he dies.
So, that means don't jump to conclusions in a failed attempt to get back at me infecting your pathetic minds with such logic and intelligence. I thought I taught you commoners better than that.

» I think...
The aging process was part of his DNA. This game is somehow based on reality and a mutation in the DNA would be the only thing that could cause Snake to age. Oh and the nanomachines were wiped out at the end of the game.
Man I need to play this game again from 1. I got to get back into the story.

Even if snake was dead he still has a hell of a story to tell about big boss, who doesn't love big boss almost as much as snake?

» respect to Kojima!
@Hideo Kojima, no matter what your choice is, all respect goes to you!
i see why people want the series continued, but those who gets mad if Mr. Kojima were quit making MGS-game (or games in general)
are just moronic.

» So whats next?
If he makes a new Metal Gear, he could easily spin off a new main character such as a soldier from one of the pmcs and then in a wow us again in a future game by bringing Solid Snake back in one form or another. But next, I hope he works on a hardcore sequel to Zone Of The Enders.

» They should be happy with mgs...
I'm more than happy with mgs...perhaps too much mgs.
I mean how many hours of cutscene/codec dialogue have well gone through for him [Kojima] to put the story forward? A lot. I think if someone were to play through MGS 1 -4 and watch every cutscene they would probably not want another mgs. Probably a good long sleep instead.
It came, it conquered, it hugged Big Boss, it left; Lets all celebrate a successful series coming to an end rather than ask for more until it goes downhill. :)

» well,
i think it already went downhill in mgs4.
the biggest disappointment was that big boss was still alive. also, raiden should be dead after what happened to him on shadow moses (it's not that i hate him). i was rather disappointed to find out that they both survived, which kind of ruined the ending.

Yeah I agree with you with mgs4 going down, I think it strayed too much but threw in mgs characters and plot to make it seem more like mgs but instead it felt more like some far out japanese anime...
either way people definately shouldnt be demanding more

... I love the metal gear series idk how 2 feel about the 4 I loved but concur the plot did go down a little. I had big hopes 4 raiden but seeing him taking a beating wasn't one of them.Seeing him fight with no arms was lol. My input they should start off fresh with a new character similar 2 snake with a little bit of raiden in him. make him a young prodigy . give him ties to snake and raiden, similar to the clone stuff but not an actual clone.maybe programing like they tried 2 do to raiden in sons of the patriots? last but least give is a scenario similar to shadow mosses. make quiet ,fierce and intense moments , drama, minor tweaks 2 controls -make them so that it feels new but still mgs, some new elements and you have the next big hit. LOL OR DO A SIDE STORY -ORIGINS OF FATMAN ! HAHA LOL
