Adriano's Famous FaceKonami has announced that Adriano Leite Ribeiro will be "the face of" Pro Evolution Soccer 6 for the European market, appearing on the front of the game's retail packaging. Adriano is one of the most respected soccer players today, known for his tremendous pace and skill, making him arguably one of football’s most dangerous strikers. Konami is also bringing Adriano and the Pro Evolution Soccer series to new platforms for the first time. PES6 will not only release for PS2 and PC, but also PSP, Nintendo DS, and Xbox360, which will release in the autumn.

"I am really looking forward to working with Konami on what everyone knows to be the most realistic football game around", Adriano said. “Pro Evolution Soccer 6 is known worldwide for its quality and I am delighted to be associated with such a fine series".

"Adriano is rightly regarded as a player with skill, pace and passion – all key elements to success in Pro Evolution Soccer 6", commented Martin Schneider, European Marketing Director for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. "We are very excited to be working with such a talent, and further new signings will be announced in the coming weeks."

This is a prime example of Konami's commitment to working with the best talents in soccer.

Adriano rox
is this pro evolution soccer version going to be a special "cup edition" game or something?

 » Adriano is the MAN

Konami is smart, for sure with Ronaldinho making brilliant passes and breaking defenses, Adriano will shine just like Eto has for Barcelona. After this World Cup expect Adriano to not only take the titles of most goals but perhaps even break the world record for world cups. Add in the kaka midfield factor and you have a striker that is bound for greatness.

Of course we can't forget about Ronaldo though. Even old dogs can still have a big bite left in them.

» A message for Konami (which they won't read anyway)

Please Konami, just don't *****in' forget to put Master League in the PSP version, as we had high hopes last year when Pro Evolution Soccer 5 was released, and it only had a League mode (not even a cup mode!). And when it came to the USA as Winning eleven 9 International, it hadn't Master League as well, even though Konami's site mentioned it. I guess I could just sue ya for fake advertising. Oh and btw, GO ADRIANO! LET'S GO BRAZIL! RUMO AO HEXA!

Yes. If the next WE for PSP has master league, I'd be perfectly happy updating to whatever homebrew destroying firmware sony cares to serve up.

if u dont like 'soccer' dont bother telling us all, this is comments about the GAME, not whether you like football or not.

 » This should be removed.

These shots aren't from the 360 version and should be removed before more idiots get it into their heads that this is what 360 PES will look like.

 » football?

Why do you guys call it football? Football is where people get tackled, i know, this is called "football" in some other country, but i assume none of you guys live in this country i speak of, why not just call it soccer and avoid confusing the fans of the game which in most countries, called soccer. Just call it socer, what are you trying to do? make soccer sound like a more popular sport than it really is. Soory buddy, its called soccer.

actually dude, i live in brazil, in which calling it soccer is the same as telling someone to ***** off. football is a religion for us. and what heck of game would be called "football", when the most of it is played using hands? O_o

   by to #24 (Unregistered) - 2006-06-13
 » Shut up.

We call it football because that is what it is, football is the biggest sport in the world and apart from Americans you'd be hard pressed to find many other counrties that call it "soccer". Don't try and tell us not to call it football because you yanks are easily confused, you should have to come up with a new name for that padded version of rugby that Americans play.

#24, you are the reason no one takes american soccer seriously, and i hate you.

i love soccer (yes, thats what i call it, because thats what its called in america, though i realize the game is called 'football') and i really hate that nobody cares that i like it or have a passion for it and just pass me off as some "dumb yank" because of idiots like this guy. "...fans of the game which in most countries, called soccer." are you f'in retarded?? we are one of maybe a handful of countries that call it something other than football

USA FOOTBALL FOREVER

   by cn (Unregistered) - 2006-06-13
» shoeldn't a game with "foot" in the title primarily require the use of feet?

What is a "soccer" anyway, where does that word come from?

"Football" is fairly easy to understand, merely being foot and ball joined together, much like the actual game. I can't stand football really but it bugs me even more that you can call a game football that is more like rugby.. but padded. Aussie football also suffers from poor naming but is more like a super violent form of rugby, WITHOUT padding...

 » Well said n°28

It's nice to see an American who actually acknowledges that "the american way" of doing something is not necessarily (often) the right way and certainly not the only way (or the way practiced by the majority).

I can't wait for this game to be released!!!

I just wish that Konami would step it up a gear and release it quickly... I mean, it's been released in Japan on PS2 so the gameplay tweaks have already been made... All they have to do is port it, add the hd res to their textures and add some achievements. I doubt it takes months to do that for a team of their stature.

 » Stupid foreigners

I love football..You stupid foreigners looks so f'n hilarious running around chasing that ball for 3 hors just to get 2 points.. its almost as boring as baseball... americans don't like "soccer" or "Football" as you call it because its boring yet we play other sports that are just as boring like "golf" "Tennis" or "Women's basketball" just because i dont like soccer doesnt mean other people don't and i respect the opinions of others but at the same time just because a country doesnt like soccer doesnt mean they are a bad country...look at germany they love soccer and look what they do'HEIL Hitler!!!'
