Ó

We wouldn't blame TA-082 PSP owners around the world if they suddenly ripped off all their clothes and ran naked down the street singing "The hills are alive with the sound of homebrew!" Not after Dark_Alex's downgrader. Well, instead of running buck naked through the streets, someone decided to show off his TA-082 PSP downgraded to 1.5, THEN ran buck naked down the street - perhaps for the skeptics to see, and finally believe.

For uploading this video, which shows a downgraded TA-082, updated to 3.02 OE-A, we thank you for mailing this to us, Nick W (PSP20036). The hills are alive with the sound of homebrew, with 'brew it has played for a thousand years... (No, we're fully clothed as we sing this).

It's about time we get video proof.

Flashing custom firmware with no A/C adapter, just to be cool. Pay not attention to them having 2 other PSPs in the background just watching as their buddy might or might not brick because of this.

Hahaha... attention whores. :P

 » Thrilled!

I just wanted to say that I upgraded two 2.71 TA-082 PSPs without any trouble whatsoever. Provided you follow the instructions correctly (those printed on the Qj.net site) you'll be in excellent shape.

PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL when upgrading. A stupid mistake could cost you your PSP. However, I'm thrilled that this truly works and can finally get my friends (who I've been begging not to upgrade their 2.71 TA-082s) up and running.

BEST to DarkAlex!! Fantastic job, as always!

 » Great video but…

It would be far better if it includes the process of downgrade, as well as the interaction with the PC.

Good work.

 » YEAH!

I swear I bursted in joy and jumped around and ran all over the house at 1AM of the night and woke everyone in the house up when I read the news.

Now I'm a very happy TA-082 user. :)

read this.... http://pspupdates.qj.net/2-71-TA-082-Firmware-PSP-s-Now-Able-to-Downgrade-/pg/49/aid/77460
and this... http://pspupdates.qj.net/Dark-AleX-s-3-02-OE-B-released-/pg/49/aid/77278

To make it short, you must get HEN-D on your PSP, then downgrade to 1.50... afterward, just flash with 3.02 OE-A then 3.02 OE-B.

Make good use of QJ's search engine! :)

 » need another video

Now all we need another video of a TA-082 PSP going from 3.02OE-B back down to 1.5 then back up to 3.02OE-A then B. After that I think more TA-082 users will be willing to take the plunge and attempt the downgrade, or if we can get some confirmation from Dark_Alex thats its possible and safe.

   Re: Jorgan (Unregistered) - 2006-12-28
 » it is

it is possible and safe once you ru nthe idstorage change on your psp ta-082, you psp is NOW NOT A ta-082 and will never be again. for example what my friend did(he's probably lieng) was once he ran that, he ran the red screen first edition of the 2.71 downgrader and that downgraded for him. he then updated to 2.0 and back to 1.5 ad now he's a 3.02 oe-b just like me :)

   Re: Miles (Unregistered) - 2006-12-29
 » Stuck

You can't. Your firmware is stuck at 3.03 until someone cracks it... You shouldn't have updated it if you did, and if you bought it that way... then i'm sorry but your stuck.

 » Downgrade 3.02 OE-A or OE-B

Is it possible to downgrade again from Dark_Alex's 3.02 OE-A,B back to 1.5?

   Re: dark_march - 2006-12-29
 » yup

reboot ur psp and hold the R button while it's turning on to enter the recovery menu then choose the Run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP(oh btw you need to put the 1.50 fw update in the recovery folder and rename it to UPDATE.PBP) before you can do this

   Re: MadHatter (Unregistered) - 2006-12-29

Thanx! That's the only thing that was keeping me from jumping on the bandwagon!

 » MAC address's

Why are people so scared of people knowing there MAC address's?

Many online pc games which use punkbuster give your MAC address to the server log, which is often then streamed to Anti-Cheat organisations.

Is there really alot that a hacker can accieve from knowing your MAC address?

 » ta-082 => 'normal' psp ?

so a ta-082 psp becomes a 'normal' psp after the idstorage thing?
does that mean that when i did that and then downgraded the (ta-082) psp to 1.5, i can upgrade it eg to 2.0 or 2.5 and then back again to 1.5 and then to 3.02oe-a? and all tools which write to flash can be used then?

   by HuH (Unregistered) - 2006-12-29

i downgrade(1.5)-upgrade(3.02OE-B)

Ok, so with 3.02 OE-B or -A or w/e you can play all the games made for 3.02 firmware (obviously) but can you also run homebrew applications such as eloader and such...
if its a n00b question i apologize
