i like the 'anonymous cowards' system, as if you want your little online identity to be hidden then you can have it that way. i am normally not taken to registering for things ,but sometimes if i want an argument it's easier to have my name on it.
@24. you're an idiot. i had typed out a long reasoned argument stating exactly why, but i don't really feel like you deserve it.
but i am selling volcano insurance, perhaps you're interested... reports say a volcano is coming your way!
f***ing fluff and his/her lame supporters.

I would love to hear your reasoned argument as to why 24 is an idiot, because I don't think you have one, its you thats the idiot.
Fluff is charging for access to the beta version so he can get constructive criticism from people who have actually used the shell. Not throw away comments full of swear words from people that don't have a clue, nor the intelligence to construct a sentence without resorted to personal attacks and needless swearing.
For example
"f*** him, and if you like him f*** you too!"
Why, what has he done to harm anyone, I say the same to you because what have you contributed to the PSP homebrew scene?

Honestly, i don't particularaly care what the vast majority of commenters post, it's clear that a great deal of them have not taken to time to even learn about the very application they bash.
This program is, and always way, Free, the update posted here is the update to the free version, now "public", which makes it just as good as the beta version.
I had always said that the free version would get the same features as the beta when they became a little more stable, and they have done, it's just a shame that there are so many narrow minded people out there who post things like this :
---
Not that exciting for public, as all we can do is open homebrew. I think they should atleast allow image viewer or audio player...
---
Yeah, you see, it has audio player, visualizations, image viewer, file manager, background changer, customizable icons and more.. you just don't know because you didn't actually try before commenting.
---
This *****ing idiot is just selling homebrew to us.
---
When the news post is about a major update, to the FREE version, how are we trying to "sell homebrew" ?
---
YAYYYY another reason to install spyware.
Fluff f*** you!!!
---
Spyware?, i think not.
---
So it still costs to use PSIX???? Damn. Put it up as freeware and i bet more people might use/try it. ;)
---
No it's free.
---
Paying for this crap? No thank you.
---
See above statement.
And, i rest my case, such comments only further validate the descision to have a pay-to-access beta forum, where we can work on the application and receive input from users who never rode the short bus.
I thank you all, for your disrespectful comments and criticisms, however unhelpful they have been, i'll continue to work on both psix beta, and psix public regardless of what i have read here today, and be safe in the knowledge that making people pay to access the beta forums was an intelligent descision, as it saved me the hastle of dealing with people like many of you.
Good day to you all.

As i recall when this program first aired, it was pro vs light versions not public release vs buggy beta. So how can you claim that "This program is, and always way, Free". To say that then i am asumming when before you changed the name, the pro was considered "free". No it wasn't the pro was suppose to have more features theirfore it was a more complete shell. Thats why everyone is pissed off, due to the fact that your giving away buggy public releases. That was the original arguement. Now your trying to do the reverse, by saying your releaseing the complete release to the public and the users who buy memberships get the buggy release.
"I had always said that the free version would get the same features as the beta when they became a little more stable" - what are you talking about, you originally said that the pro version would get more features than the light version, so how can you say "i had always said the free version would get more features as the beta when they became more stable" more like you originally said that the light version or public release version would get updates when they trickle down from the pro version, so you can't use the word "always" cause you just recently changed it.
In fact how does the public suppose to know that you have changed, and not decided to change your words so their not so agrivating to the ear. As for the fast majority of the unpaying public is concerned, this is still pro vs light and not buggy betta vs public release beta. So your claim that says "this is free" are your attempts to try to take back your first words about the program.

You know you brought this on yourself.
And you dont have to charge for forum access to keep it clean and flame free. there are many, many forum setups that you could have used; kept your forum clean; and you wouldnt have to charge people.
Your last post is a farse, and you know it. You try and stand all high anf mighty with you "Charge for forum access" Argument. But it hold little or no weight as many of us have been following yours and others work since day 1. And its not a secret that the only reason you say you charge for forum access is so you can use they grey area and try and keep your project legal.
But it still stands that you are directly or indirectly charging for homebrew, which was made using public freeware tools. Imagine the homebrew community if say the developers of PSPradio started to charge? Or if the emulator developers (Which many just ported over the freeware PC versions) charged for they work?
You can stand all high and mighty behind your "Pay for forum access" all you want. But your using grey area, and you have crossed the ethical boundry IMHO. Its a shame that such a tallented graphic designer (Your work is stunning) cannot see how harmful this is to the homebrew comunity. But then again i must have rode the short bus on the way to University right. I will not flame you (You have had enough allready :) ) ; but i will not support your project either.
And the funny this about all this really is. Your graphic style and creativity is amazing. Your business sence it very lacking; since if you would have made a donation system. You would probably have 10 times the amount of payments.
Keep Homebrew free, support quality developers (Donations)

Fluff, the reason people are burning you about PSix not being free is because you sold it in the first place! You were (I believe) the first developer to break the unspoken rules and charge for homebrew and because of that act your shell will always be regarded poorly.
If people want to slam you before even trying it out... then I say go ahead. You lost the respect of MANY people when you pulled your stunt. Maybe you've forgotten? Here... let me reiterate:
1) Charging $10/head for a shell replacement built on ps2dev.org tools.
2) Invoking the 'ps2dev.org' name to help sell it.
3) Never approaching ps2dev.org for permission or even offering any funds?
If you haven't already read PS2dev.org's comments about this whole fiasco... then read it here:
http://www.qj.net/Fluff-announces-pricing-for-PSIX-PS2Dev-org-Responds/pg/49/aid/20875
It's all about respect and it's quite apparent that Fluff... has none.

From many of your post, you seem honest and genuine, and the money thing maynot have been your idea, who knows, and you maynot handle it, again who knows. All i was saying is that you really took the wrong approach. Thats why there are so many flames. And like Johny-D #55 said. "You were (I believe) the first developer to break the unspoken rules and charge for homebrew and because of that act your shell will always be regarded poorly."
I have a strong coding backgroud; mostly hardward ASM programming, but i am also well versed in many other languages. And when you first came out with the whole charge thing i was appaled.
Note. Also as a developer you have to have thicker skin. You need to stand above everyones useless comments. Becasue you and i know most of these flames post are only that. Useless flames. And sinking to there level really just makes things worse IMO anyways
Take a better aproach next time. Heck maybe even change your alias for your next project. And drop who ever gave you the idea to charge for forum access or what ever.
Becasue charging may have pissed of the homebrew community; but in a more serious note. I bet it made Sony open up there eyes, and i can garantee they are watching you.

It's nice to see the public getting a taste of PSIX. There are many shells out there, and many of them have better features than PSIX, but I have yet to see one with a better look and layout. I loved the layout so much (as well as the images) that I purchased a Pro membership.
Also to everyone spamming these comments with random hate comments againt Fluff, please stop. I'd like to easily read what people think is good about this public release.
(yes, I know that I can't stop the morons from continuing these comments.)
Best regards Fluff and everyone who enjoys PSIX.
