Howdy-doo. It's Friday so it's time for another edition of QJ.net's How-To Guides. This time we're going to be tackling how to install AhMan's iR Shell, something you have to try at least once, because once you start, you can't stop. Like Pringles, except it doesn't run out and doesn't leave crumbs. As before, I advise you have our PSP Homebrew Dictionary open in another window while reading this guide so you have something to consult if you find some terms you don't understand. So let's get cracking. Let's start off with the basics. What will you need to install iR Shell? Just two things: compatible custom firmware, and the installation files. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. So what are the compatible firmwares? You'll need M33 CFW 3.71 or above. You don't have custom firmware you say? Worry not your little head. We have a guide ready and available for you. Just follow this link. Moving on with the iR Shell installation though, you'll also need to download the installation files. You can choose which version to install. Voila:
To start the installation follow these steps:
Now in case you want iR Shell to run everytime you do a cold boot, then copy the seplugins folder from the original 4.9/5.0 install, and copy it to the root of your memory stick (answer yes when asked to merge). Do a cold boot and enter recovery mode. Go to plugins and enable irsautoboot.prx. Voila! Squeezy peezy melon cookie. *Disclaimer: As always, please be careful when using homebrew. Your PSP is your own responsibility. |

It is "universal" but the multi-tasking is a slim only feature.

I think IR Shell is a pretty good program... and it does have a lot of features.
But for me, the interface is something I don't like.
Like I said, that's just me.
