YOU! You're the reason why we have to go back to the drawing board! - Image 1Kinda confused by this window from the Japanese Sony PlayStation site. The downloadable-for-PSP title R-Types seems to be buggy under FW 3.10 ("About the condition which with PSP private [gemuakaibusu] 'R-TYPES in the system software version 3.10 of PSP itself' occurs").

Web translation of the Japanese text proved inadequate for us to ascertain exactly what was up (something about black screens). Then there was this sentence: "In this condition February 2nd week (February 5th ~9 day) at system update it is the schedule which corresponds." It could be interpreted to mean a firmware update to correct any conflicts with R-Types... and who knows what else. It could also be to correct conflicts with other PSP downloadable titles. Equally likely is a small security patch as part of the package - but don't quote us on that. All we have to go on is one popup window.

If there is an update on the way, if there is any small consolation to that expectation, if it is a small update, it's not like a jump in the tenths, not anything major like 3.10.

 » R-Types

Well, my personally built eboot of the (U) version of R-Types seems to work just fine in 3.10 OE-A. I used IceTea to build it. Maybe it's either just the (J) version of the game or something about SCE's eboot build. Perhaps it could even be something about OE-A that fixed the problem.
