Ó

Knowing what we do, bhattsan offered us this tip, this news report at the French-language PSP- Generation, and, well, let the picture speak a thousand words.

So they say.

Is there a reason to doubt seeing a 3.03 OE-B in the next forty-eight hours, mon ami? Maybe not - PSP-Gen did claim that they received the word from Dark_Alex and/or Mathieulh: "Thank you once again in Dark_Alex and Mathieulh for their work has and to have entrusted this small information to us." It's hard to believe what we couldn't see, though; in the wake of Faux-Alex, we've been especially careful in trying to find out where a lead other than from the man himself comes from, particularly in this case. Nothing in the dan.lax.st site about 3.03 OE-B, either.

Given the pattern of 3.00+ OE-x releases from DA, though, these quick updates do fall into the pattern. Still, this is still technically hearsay, and useful details like added features could have been added to help verify this report. No one toss their cookies yet. You know we'll be watching very carefully for the next 48 hours.

Thanks for the watchful eye, bhattsan!

UPDATE: This news, err, rumor sure had some of you excited. So excited, in fact, that you made speculations of your own as to what we can expect from 3.03 OE-B. To stop the guesses from getting out of hand, Mathieulh made a comment in this very article. In case you're not up to reading the 60+ comments (as of press time), here is what he had to say:

Ok as it seems too many people have been speculating too much about upcomming 3.03OE-B features, I'll leak the main feature info.

It will simply allow full resolution avc videos (480x272) to be played on the psp official player by breaking the 320x240 current limit for avc video playback resolution on the psp official video player.

Videos will use the same container (MP4) as any other videos encoded for the official player, thus no need to use pmp player anymore or to encode videos to pmp format

If they were small bug fixes and updates, it would be 3.03 OE-A''.

 » Nah

I think this could be real, because alex has a tendency to do this kinda thing, he may have released the bug fix, then thought of a new feature, then found another bug, but now he just doesnt want to say what the new feature is! It could be nuclear warfare! He could be a terrorist (or not lol)

I have seen visions of this in my crystal ball. The 3.03 OE-B firmware will allow your PSP to grant you three mystical wishes like a mighty genie. However, battery life is still as short as it ever was.

The crystal ball never lies. Never.

I'm sick of QJ posting all these rumours. If you have some facts great post them, if you don't have any FACTS don't try to hype up something that we aren't sure is real.

 » i think

i think this is getting annoying.

you just finish customizing your firmware, a new update comes out. poor ART has to go through the alphabet to get keep up.

updating is a drag. no.. not a James st. James drag, but as in something annoying. sure these are all good. but it would be better to finalize a modded firmware then release it.

other than the frequent updates. this is perfect. the whole modded firmware thing.

hatemail?

   Re: thyvillageidiot - 2007-01-09
 » so

you'd rather not get new bug fixes and great new features (like full res video playback without pmp), just to save ART alittle bit of trouble, and save yourself from alittle bit of "annoyance"...

dude, ART will update when he wants - and i dont think that "the alphatbet" is complaining.

lol, no offence man, but your argument seems kinda funny.

Who said it was a Flash! Itcould be like the last -B where itwas a quick patch if you don't like it then stick w your old firmware,Von32.
But i originaly want to post that Qj needs to cut down on directing people on to sites that are going to damage their reputation like the 303 brick installer (i manage to skate that one w just a 3.02 installation)or gossip sites that will likely publish unchecked flashers.

BTW QJ, your still hosting the easy installer with the bad data.dxar i checked an hour ago because i ran a md5 check for a friend's psp(saved him a headachele site before and a brick for not reading a reputable before flashing). Don't use it newbies if you have to go to 3.03 oe-b.

   Re: Warforged (Unregistered) - 2007-01-10
» Probably Not And Here's Why

The reason why FF8 isn't working so hot is because the Sony 3.03 kernel isn't designed to handle it. You remember when they updated to "let a bunch of new games release for commercial sale?" They were actually updating the emulator so it could handle other games. Case in point, Klonoa works now, when before on 3.02-OEB it refused to load. It looks like you're going to have to tough it out for a little while, unfortunately. +/

I have firmware 3.03 and i want to play homebrew where do you put this oe-b

or

I'm worry this would brick a my 2.81 & up psp even though it would show as a corrupt icon.

I know we all started @ 0 knowledge of the brew out there but after 15th time on the same page the answer is no so don't spam the threads or the forums

I had a 2.80 TA-082 since 2.80 came out or when i got a 2.6 psp around late sept. I waited there and read Psp Vault and Qj until Dax's Hello World Tiff came around . I bide my time with tiff brew and Umds(still buying them) until these came around but i never posted incessively because i was lazy and updated before I went 2.80 for the Locoroco and World soccer eboot.

4 months ago my mb and Fw were a death sentence to all brew and thank to Dark Alex all my dreams have come true. Vote for Dax for supreme being. Oh lets start showing 0okm some repect too. His 2.8 downgrader worked. Even if it was DAX source, it wasn't a bricker like that genius Maniac's 303 installer.

   Re: BrutalChildMolester (Unregistered) - 2007-01-10
 » Whack as Shiet

0okm? Why show someone who has massive clods of sand in his vagina respect?

First he said it was impossible to softdown TA-82's then he said it was possible to do it but they couldnt run any unofficial eboots, then he releases a downgrader that runs everything, all while selling his downgrading techniques to the triad.

he just a whack-a$s sumbiatch wordup

   Re: jkoz - 2007-01-10
 » Yeah, okay.

If you can do better, then by all means, go ahead. 0okm wasn't lying, at the time it looked like you couldn't softdown TA-082 and all that. I have respect for anyone in the scene that's doing this great stuff. Brew on.

Re: Henry Krinkle KrinKle (Unregistered) - 2007-01-10
 » STFU Brutalchildmolester

Hey he packaged something that you didn't do and couldn't do. He was put out info and ***** when lot of people weren't. Alot of people may disagree w his methods of recouping the researching cost. Others may debate the level of expertise compare to Alex, i'll acknowledge the whole process in the final build is 180 degrees difference from his explanation. Saying that I can't ***** too much because I am now rid of 2.80 ta-o82 because of his build on alex's source(again wheres' BrutalChildMolester involved, nowhere because you haven't done S.hit) Looking at the scene I suprised that alex is still around with the amount of ungreatful bastards that are never going to contribute time and/or money so they can use it for Illegal Means and pestering them to top it off. There also all bunch off people mascaradering as the devs on boards and different sites trying to get noobs to brick there psp and hold them liable, more harrassment by the disgruntled. They also have lives and jobs I'm assuming so the hours they pouring into this also takes a toll on both the aforementioned.

So please lets not pretend it the sixties and there some type of good pure intentions and a true sense of community. It's not a hippie commune, only a very small percentage actualy contribute something useful and the rest ***** and question morality while brag how many iso they have.

Go take your PSP flush it down the toilet and ***** your mother.

Some original Sony sticks perform better than others.

I don't see how this program could be correct in every case,
unless every type and size of MS had been tested.

I also don't see how this program could try to determine a

which can be inconsistent.
