It looks like Free Radical - and, by extension, the TimeSplitters series which a lot of you readers seem to be fans of - may still have a future after all.

There has apparently been "very strong" interest in the company according to ReSolve Partners, the administration firm that took over when Free Radical went into administration back in December. The formal announcement of the studio's future will be made this week.

The main goal is to sell the studio as a whole, but ReSolve said that it would split Free Radical apart if that turns out to be the more lucrative option. The studio's IPs may also be sold to other companies.

Two companies that are reportedly interested in Free Radical are Codemasters and Monumental Games. ReSolve also mentioned that some companies outside of the video game industry have also shown interest in the Haze and TimeSplitters developer.

Honestly, it would be great if codemasters grabbed up FRD and had them continue their work with TS4.

If I recall correctly QJ had an article up earlier about Pandemic (Mercenaries Games) picking up the rights to Battlefront 3. I could be wrong I'd say search QJ for the article. I'd check myself if I weren't crunched for time.

Future Perfect was so incredibly fun, it made me reminisce about Goldeneye64, but it felt right at home. Didn't the some of the devs from TimeSplitters help create Goldeneye? Whatever, but man. I wish I were a billionaire.. I'd be lending money left and right to video game companies (I'd protect my investment by being smart, like forcing companies to listen to it's gamers unlike EA, who releases the same crap over and over.. I'm still pissed about the past few NFS!!)

Hmm, awesome. Codemasters is a long time partner of Free Radical so I wonder how that'll work out.
