Pity the gunpowder plot was foiled... guy fawkes was truly a great man with good intentions.
While I don't agree with his terroristic plot (and I'm trying to avoid a big debate about religion and politics and whatnot), I do smile when I hear the tongue-in-cheek statement that Guy Fawkes compared to politicians from the past and present was the only person who went into Parliament with good intentions. :P
(Besides, now that we've turned off anonymous
comments - and now that comments are smarter,
funnier, and more meaningful - you have a good
venue to share your reactions.)
Yeah right, supposed to be that way in theory
but I don't see it happening.
Although it'd be nice if it were true, I'd like to
think that the posts here from now on would be
just that "smarter, funnier, and more meaningful".
Anyways, looking forward to some good gadget news.
I even liked the film (though it would have been much better if Natalie Portman wasn't in it) It's a nice idea doing a lookback day, do an article on Bullfrog and find out if EA or Peter Mollenuex are going to bring Syndicate back or not.
I loved Syndicate. Survived many a boring lecture by imagining what would happen if I got my hands on a Persuadertron.
Here's a little known fact about Guido(Guy)Fawkes and his merry bunch of men you may not know, before trying to kill the king they had to dry out the gun powder as it had got wet,
Q.so what did this little bunch of einstiens do?
A.they dried it in front of an open fire!!!which ended with several of them seriously injured although none of the would be assassins were killed...
Hardly suprising then that they were all caught and executed at The Tower of London...
and hung drawn and quatered. We british are nice +]...
also ive never seen ppl begging for change.. they dont even do that on halloween.. well not in london atleast

Still, any "holiday" that gives people an excuse to light fireworks and go door-to-door begging for spare change sounds like something worth celebrating. So we at QJ.NET invite you to get into the spirit of things to remember, remember the 5th of November.
